  • Patent number: 8649785
Abstract: A device for communication between a portable computer system including a display screen and avionic equipment items comprises shielded walls forming at least a partial Faraday cage. The device also includes at least one wide band high output wireless transmitter-receiver arranged inside the shielded walls and adapted for carrying out a very short range point-to-point radio communication with the portable computer system when the portable computer system is placed inside the shielded walls. The device also includes at least one interface connected to the avionic equipment items and adapted for transmitting data originating from the portable computer system to the avionic equipment items and data originating from the avionic equipment items to the portable computer system, through the at least one said transmitter-receiver.

  • Patent number: 8462058
Abstract: A wireless communication device for an aircraft that includes at least one antenna, for example a wide-band antenna, and a transparent multilayered substrate, for example a side glazing, a front glazing or a porthole of the aircraft, adapted for receiving the at least one antenna. At least a portion of one layer of the substrate is at least partially reflective to electromagnetic waves transmitted or received by the at least one antenna, wherein the at least one portion of the layer of the substrate is located at least partially opposite the at least one antenna. The at least one portion of the layer of the substrate can be a de-icing or defogging heating film.
