  • Patent number: 11350649
Abstract: A flash boiling apparatus for a liquid food product that includes particles, the apparatus including a vacuum vessel provided with a product inlet and a product outlet for liquid food product, a pressure relief valve arranged upstream the product inlet for providing a pressure drop that results in flash boiling of the liquid food product, and an inlet section arranged between the pressure relief valve and the product inlet, for conveying the liquid food product from the pressure relief valve to the product inlet. The inlet section includes a through-flow area that increases in a direction from the pressure relief valve to the product inlet, such that a flow velocity of the liquid food product decreases when it passes the inlet section.

  • Patent number: 10137387
Abstract: A system for deaerating a liquid comprises a separation vessel where deaerated liquid is separated from gas, predominantly air; a liquid inlet to the separation vessel through which the liquid enters the separation vessel; a liquid outlet from the separation vessel through which a deaerated liquid exits the separation vessel, and a gas outlet through which the gas exits the separation vessel. The liquid inlet is arranged at a first end of the separation vessel and is configured to give the liquid entering the separation vessel a trajectory, and wherein a stop plate is arranged in the trajectory to abruptly stop the propagation of liquid travelling along the trajectory.

  • Patent number: 10004244
Abstract: The invention relates to an adjustable steam injector of the type which has an injector housing with an inlet for a product which is to be heated and an inlet for steam. The injector housing also has an outlet for the product mixed with steam. The injector also includes an injector body displaceable in the injector housing. About the front end of the injector body there are disposed concentric gaps for product and steam, respectively. The injector body has a recess in its front end. The recess has the same extent as the cross sectional surface of the injector body and has its greatest depth in the center of the injector body.

  • Patent number: 9795150
Abstract: In a method for deaerating a liquid the liquid is pressurized to a pressure above atmospheric, after which it is guided to an upstream end of a nucleation valve. A low pressure resides on the downstream end of the nucleation valve and as the liquid passes the valve, bubble nucleation is initiated, forming the first step in a deaeration process. According to the method the temperature and pressure on the downstream side of the valve is controlled such that the static pressure is above the saturation pressure, while the lowest pressure as the liquid passes the valve is below or equal to the saturation pressure.

  • Patent number: 6705755
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of homogenization of a pressured liqueform emulsion, such as milk. The liquid is caused to pass at least two concentrically placed homogenization gaps (12, 13) which are form in the space between two narrow surface (10, 11)on a fixed valve seat (2) and two narrow surfaces (14, 15) on a movable valve cone (1). When the liquid passes out the homogenization gaps (12, 13) a first homogenization takes place. The homogenization is rendered more efficient in that the liquid, when it passes out from one of the homogenization gaps (12) at high speed and in a restricted space meets the liquid out from one or more of the other homogenization gaps (13).
