Abstract: A liquid handling system and method, e.g., for testing blood samples. The system comprises a cartridge, and a transfer device couplable to a liquid reservoir. The cartridge comprises compartments with an inlet, closed by a seal, and an outlet, closed by a gas-permeable liquid-tight filter. Keying portions define a relative position and orientation of the cartridge and the transfer device. Penetrating elements of the transfer device penetrate the seal of each compartment, the penetrating elements having lumina for fluidly connecting the reservoir and each compartment cavity of the cartridge.

Abstract: A dispenser comprising a body, a dispensing device having an orifice, a gate configured to move between a first position and a second position with respect to the orifice, a biasing device to bias the gate towards the first position, and a dampener coupled to the gate and configured to impede the biasing device from biasing the gate towards the first position to delay, in time, the gate from moving from the second position to the first position; and wherein in the first position the gate engages the sheets passing through the orifice with enough force to break a perforation separating two contiguous sheets of the series to cause single sheet dispensing; and the delay allows multiple sheets of the series of interconnected sheets to pass through the orifice, when pulled at a given rate, before the gate moves from the second position to the first position.

Abstract: A fixation device (1) for a medical line (L) to a patient is provided. The medical line may be a wire, a tube, an endotracheal tube or similar. The fixation device comprises a support member (3) supporting a retainer (5), the retainer defining an axis and being adapted to retain the medical line extending in axial direction. The retainer comprises an enclosure (25) for radially retaining the line and a clamp (27). The clamp is configured to provide a crimping force around the axis for fixing the line in at least axial direction, preferably also radial direction, relative to the enclosure.

The capsule comprises a circumferential wall having on one end a bottom adapted to allow entrance of the liquid, and on an opposite end a lid closing said end of the circumferential wall. The circumferential wall, bottom and lid enclosing an inner space containing the product. At least one of the lid and/or bottom comprises at least one first portion and at least one second portion separated by at least one slit and having different moving mechanics when under pressure. At least a layer of tearable material covers said slit.
