  • Patent number: 5585126
Abstract: A closing unit 1 for mold tools 6 of injection molding machines is provided with a stationary mold support- or base-plate 2, a mold support plate 3 whose spacing can be adjusted relative to the stationary mold support plate by displacement thereof, as well as a drive support plate 4, which is connected to the stationary mold support- or base plate 2 by traction links 5, for instance struts. The traction links 5 can be used at the same time as slide guides for the mobile mold support plate 3 and an electromotor 8 serves as an actuation device for the mobile mold mounting plate 3, which electromotor 18 repositions one or several toggle levers 6 and 7 alternately between a kinked position and a stretched position. The toggle lever system or systems are installed between the drive support plate 4 and the mobile mold molding plate 3 and the mold tool 6 is maintained under closing stress or tension between the two mold support plates 2 and 3 in the stretched position of the toggle lever system or systems 7.

  • Patent number: 4963302
Abstract: A method and apparatus for quality control of molded articles manufactured by injection molding machines or die casting machines. The method includes weighing individual molded articles after they have been ejected from the mold. The actual weight of the molded article is compared to a desired weight and the resulting difference signal is used for influencing the injection molding machine or the die casting machine in order to correct the weight of the molded articles. The molded articles are each guided as exactly as possible onto the center of a weighing zone of the test balance and the entire weighing zone is protected at least during each weighing procedure against ambient influences. The apparatus for carrying out the method includes an electronic test balance arranged after a discharge hopper for the molded articles. The electronic test balance is used for providing an output signal for influencing the injection molding machine or the die casting machine.

  • Patent number: 4781571
Abstract: An injection molding machine (1) is equipped with an apparatus (7) for removing injection molded articles. The apparatus makes possible the removal of the articles (6) from the opened injection mold (3). A two-way support (10, 11, 12, 13) is moveably mounted on a guide bed (8) aligned parallel relative to the direction of actuation of the closing unit (2) for the injection mold (3). The two-way support has a vertically moveable carriage (13) with a support member (14) which at its lower end is provided with a gripping member (15) which is adjustable relative to the support member (14) about two longitudinal axes extending at a right angle relative to each other. The articles (6) can be removed from the opened injection mold (3) by means of the gripping member (15) and can be deposited as desired onto a device (16) either in front of the front end face or behind the rear face of the injection molding machine (1).

  • Patent number: 4778370
Abstract: A changing device for the screw cylinder of an injection molding machine. The screw of the screw cylinder is in releasable coupling connection with a drive unit of the machine. For releasing and uncoupling the coupling connection, the screw cylinder including screw can be displaced relative to the injection molding machine essentially transversely of the longitudinal direction of the screw cylinder. Two hydraulic cylinders are arranged spaced apart next to each other symmetrically and parallel to the longitudinal center plane of the injection molding machine. The two cylinders are connected to each other by means of a transverse member. A free space extending forwardly from the drive unit is defined by the two hydraulic cylinders and the transverse members. The free space forms an alignment seat which is open towards the front and towards the back and a longitudinal side. In the coupled position, the screw cylinder is fixable and lockable to the drive unit in this alignment seat.
