  • Patent number: 5857829
Abstract: A device for isolating stacked flat workpieces includes a driven, web-like supporting framework which rotates in a frame. Rotating rolls are supported at equal intervals on a circle concentric to the turning axis of the framework. Each roll is provided with a row of suction boxes. Driving gears of the rolls are rotated, in a direction opposite to the rotation direction of the supporting framework, by a spider gear fixed to the framework. Intermediate gears, through which the spider gear rotates the driving gears, are supported in the supporting framework. A stacking cartridge is placed at the external cylinder defined by the row of suction boxes in such a way that each row of suction boxes of each roll withdraws an exposed workpiece from the cartridge. A transport device which removes an isolated workpiece and further transports the workpiece is placed at the external cylinder. In order to prevent a stack from being set into vibration by a passing roll, a stacking cartridge completely confines the stack.

  • Patent number: 5827165
Abstract: A device for pulling open continuously cross-conveyed tube sections for the purpose of forming bottoms in the manufacture of sacks has support tubes provided in pairs and connected to vacuum sources by lines. Each of the support tubes forms the coupler of two parallel connecting rods housed in a machine frame so as to rotate and is equipped with a row of radial suction units. A crank is connected to a shaft of a parallel connecting rod. A crank pin, supporting a slide ring or a roll, slides in a radial guide attached to a shaft. The shaft of the guide is offset relative to the parallel connecting rod shaft such that an essentially translational movement corresponding to the conveyance speed is superimposed on the opening movement of the row of suction units. In order to achieve a better opening of the tube section ends even at higher conveyance speeds, the radial guide is formed in a curved shape such that the time of uniform motion of the suction units and the tube section is lengthened.

  • Patent number: 5816163
Abstract: A doctor blade device of a rinsable ink application device of a rotary press is cleaned by first pumping ink back out of an ink chamber of the doctor blade device via a discharge line into an ink tank. Subsequently, from a solvent tank and via a feed line, solvent is directed into the ink chamber. During a predetermined time span, solvent is directed via the discharge line into the ink tank. Subsequently, the solvent, which is still contaminated with ink, is pumped into a contaminant chamber within a predetermined time span. The solvent flow from the solvent tank is interrupted and the solvent is pumped into the contaminant tank. Fresh solvent is then pumped via the feed line into the ink chamber, the suction line to the solvent tank is closed, and the solvent is pumped via the feed and discharge lines within a closed rinsing cycle for a predetermined amount of time. The circulating solvent is then directed into the contaminant tank.
