  • Patent number: 4301234
Abstract: This invention relates to an improvement in a light-sensitive recording material comprising a support and a light-sensitive layer including a diazonium salt polycondensation product composed of recurrent units of the general types(A--N.sub.2 X) and (B)which are connected with each other by bivalent intermediate members derived from a condensable carbonyl compound and wherein A is the radical of a diazonium salt which comprises at least two isocyclic or heterocyclic aromatic rings and which in at least one position of its molecule is capable of condensation with formaldehyde in an acid medium, B is the radical of a compound free of diazonium groups which in at least one position of its molecule is capable of condensation with formaldehyde in an acid medium, and X is the anion of the diazonium salt, the improvement that the light-sensitive layer additionally contains about 6 to 20 parts by weight of amine resin per part by weight of the polycondensation product.

  • Patent number: 4288520
Abstract: This invention relates to a light-sensitive copying material comprising a coating support and an optically homogeneous light-hardenable coating which contains a condensation product of an aromatic diazonium salt and a water-insoluble macromolecular polymer, wherein the coating is applied from a stable dispersion of the water-insoluble polymer under conditions such that after drying an optically homogeneous coating is formed. The invention also relates to a process for the manufacture of a light-sensitive copying material containing the optically homogeneous light-hardenable coating.

  • Patent number: 4266006
Abstract: This invention relates to a process for the manufacture of an imaged article which comprises:(a) imagewise irradiating with laser light a material comprising a carrier having on a surface thereof a layer comprising at least one non-photosensitive material, and(b) removing non-irradiated areas of said layer by treating the layer with a developer in which said non-irradiated areas are soluble but in which irradiated areas are insoluble due to modification of said non-photosensitive material by the laser light.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 16, 1978
Date of Patent: May 5, 1981
    Assignee: Hoechst Aktiengesellschaft
Inventors: Fritz Uhlig, Kurt A. Wehlmnn
  • Patent number: 4153461
Abstract: This invention relates to an aluminum base material for presensitized printing plates. The aluminum has an anodically produced oxide layer on the surface thereof, which layer is at least 0.0002 mm. thick, and the oxide layer is reacted with polyvinyl phosphonic acid.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 3, 1972
Date of Patent: May 8, 1979
    Assignee: Hoechst Aktiengesellschaft
    Inventors: Gunter Berghauser, Fritz Uhlig
  • Patent number: 4063949
Abstract: This invention relates to an improvement in the process for the preparation of a planographic printing form in which a recording material comprising a support of anodically oxidized aluminum and a recording layer thereon is imagewise irradiated with a laser beam, thereby rendering the irradiated portions of the recording layer oleophilic and/or insoluble, and the non-irradiated portions of the recording layer are then removed, where necessary, by washing with a developer liquid, the improvement comprising an oxide layer on said support weighing at least 3 grams per square meter.

Date of Patent: December 20, 1977
    Assignee: Hoechst Aktiengesellschaft
    Inventors: Fritz Uhlig, Ine Gramm
  • Patent number: 4034183
Abstract: This invention relates to an improvement in the process for the production of a planographic printing form in which a carrier coated with a hydrophilic layer composed of a non-light-sensitive compound is imagewise exposed, the improvement comprising imagewise exposing the layer to laser radiation, whereby the material obtained may be used for printing in a planographic printing machine without further treatment.
