  • Patent number: 8139634
Abstract: This disclosure is related to a fast motion estimation method for implementing in a video encoder. A particular method includes determining early termination based on the value of a sum of absolute difference (SAD0). The method also includes performing motion prediction using a motion vector from a previous frame as a prediction point. The method further includes using the prediction point as the center to obtain the integral motion vector by conducting a 3×3 cross searching until a minimum sum of absolute difference (minSAD) is located at the center of the cross and predicting a location of a half-pixel point based upon a point corresponding to the integral motion vector, values of the minimum sum of absolute difference of other four cross points.

  • Patent number: 7921008
Abstract: A method for detecting voice activity comprises pre-processing a first frame in an audio frame sequence, receiving a subsequent frame as a current frame, calculating weighted linear prediction energy of the current frame based on Nth-order linear prediction coefficients, determining whether the current frame contains a noise or speech, if a speech is indicated, performing linear prediction analysis on the current frame to derive new Nth-order linear prediction coefficients and updating the coefficients with the derived one; if a nose is indicated and not the last frame, repeating the calculating and determining process. The corresponding device comprises a component for storing Nth-order linear prediction coefficients, a component for performing linear prediction analysis, a component for computing weighted linear prediction energy and a component for determining whether the current frame contains speech or noise based on calculated weighted linear prediction energy.

  • Patent number: 7664113
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for system multiplexing and program element identification is disclosed. A multiplexer generates a sequence of transport packets and associated program element information tables (PEIT). The header of a transport packet carrying the PEIT includes a unique PEIT indicator. A de-multiplexer first locates the PEIT by the unique PEIT indicator in the transport packet header. The de-multiplexer utilizes the corresponding program element identifier (PEID) of the program specific information (PSI) to search for the required transport packet that contains the PSI. The de-multiplexer then locates and extracts the needed elementary streams by searching for the associated PEID in the PEIT. The elementary streams are then sent to decoders for further processing.

  • Publication number: 20070035637
Abstract: This invention provides a method of interpolating a color filter array (CFA), which combines the advantages of the interpolation method based on edge detection and the interpolation method which utilizes the original color of each CFA pixel as reference, in order to ensure that the edges of the output image are clear and there are no obvious color artifacts. The interpolation method in this invention is computationally efficient and appropriate for real-time applications, in that only a 5×5 linear interpolation template is calculated and applied for each pixel.
