  • Patent number: 6244369
Abstract: An operator's cab structure for a construction machine, arranged to minimize the degree of lateral projection of a cab door on the outer side of a left enclosure section, for the purpose of securing a broader dwelling space within a cab. A side panel or wall portion which is provided in a left side enclosure section of a cab box is located in a receded position inward of outer marginal edges of a ceiling enclosure section. By this arrangement, an open door accommodating space is formed or defined on the rear side of the left side enclosure section by an outer surface of the side wall portion, lower surface of the ceiling enclosure section and rear surface of a center pillar. As a consequence, when the cab door is opened, it is received in the open door accommodating space to minimize the extent of lateral projection of the door on the outer side of the left enclosure section.
