  • Patent number: 5604335
Abstract: The oscillation of an oscillator is automatically stopped during gas sampling, and the gas sampling is automatically stopped during the measurement of the frequency of the oscillator before and after the gas sampling, thereby making it possible to avoid the measurement error due to a change in resonance frequency by the effect of dynamic and static pressures applied to a filter paper holder mounted at the free end of the oscillator in the gas sampling, and to prevent the dislodgement and reentrainment of suspended particulates collected in the filter paper due to the oscillation acceleration. Accordingly, it is possible to accurately measure the mass of suspended particulates deposited on a filter paper compared with the conventional method in which the gas sampling and the measurement of the frequency are simultaneously and continuously performed while oscillating an oscillator.

  • Patent number: 4293521
Abstract: A waste flue gas cleaning method and an apparatus for practicing said method, in which a reactant solution is sprayed into a waste flue gas introduced into a spray tower, whereby a toxic component in the flue gas is caused to be absorbed in and react with the droplets of the sprayed reactant solution, and the water contained in the droplets is vaporized and the reaction products are dried into solid particles by the sensible heat of said flue gas. A series of the above operation is accomplished within the spray tower while maintaining the outlet gas temperature always above the dew point of the flue gas, and the solid particles of the reaction products are removed from the flue gas by an after dust collector.

  • Patent number: 4185971
Abstract: The present invention relates to an electrostatic precipitator comprising a cylindrical precipitation electrode having a discharge electrode disposed along the central axis thereof and rotatably supported in an inclined or horizontal manner, a driving means for rotating said precipitation electrode at a low speed, and a dust removing device having a plurality of scrapers aligned in the vicinity of the lower inner surface of said precipitation electrode; and characterized in that the dust adhering to the inner surface of the precipitation electrode is scraped off by said scrapers and led to one end of the precipitation electrode so as to be exhausted therefrom.
