  • Patent number: 5037154
Abstract: A vehicle body structure having a lock device for use of a package tray installed in a vehicle. A package tray is provided within a luggage compartment to conceal a luggage from the outside. In a two box car, a luggage compartment is communicated with a passenger compartment. Hence, even if a hatch back door is closed and locked, a luggage put in a luggage compartment might be stolen if a front or rear door is opened. The lock device makes the package tray locked, thereby disconnecting the communication between the passenger compartment and the luggage compartment.

  • Patent number: 4690456
Abstract: A lumbar supporting air bag assembly built into a seat back includes a main body consisting of a resilient sheet of synthetic resin sealed together at the side edges thereof, a port provided on the main body for introducing air into and discharging air from the main body, a plurality of partitions formed in the sheet, and longitudinally extending elongate holes or slits formed at the center of the partitions, the latter being separated from one another to define mutually communicating chambers in the air bag assembly. The opposing edges of the slits or holes separate from each other when air under pressure is introduced into the air bag, in such a manner that the holes or slits cause the chambers to be expanded in the direction of a pad.

  • Patent number: 3951428
Abstract: A device for inflating a gas bag comprising an end member or socket member which is airtightly disposed at one end of a gas bomb, and a gas generating device which is detachably disposed in the end member or socket member. The end member or socket member includes a seal plate which hermetically isolates the interior of the end member or socket member and the interior of the gas bomb and which is broken upon actuation of the gas generating device. In filling the gas bomb with a high pressure gas for the initial inflation of the gas bag, the gas generating device is detached from the end member or socket member, so that the filling job can be safely carried out.
