  • Patent number: 10612437
Abstract: A method for execution with an exhaust-gas particle filter which is operated with an exhaust-gas aftertreatment system, wherein the exhaust-gas particle filter has a filter wall along which exhaust gas is conducted for filtering purposes; wherein the method includes a regeneration phase with the steps: a) setting a soot load on the exhaust-gas particle filter, wherein the set soot load effects the formation of a soot layer on ash deposited on the filter wall; and b) subsequently mobilising the deposited ash by burning off the formed soot layer during the course of an active regeneration of the exhaust-gas particle filter.

  • Patent number: 10060318
Abstract: A method for operating a driving system having an internal combustion engine and an exhaust gas purifying device through which exhaust gas from the internal combustion engine flows in order to be purified. The exhaust gas purifying device has at least one catalyst element for catalytic conversion of nitrogen monoxide into nitrogen dioxide at a determined conversion rate. In order to compensate for an age related decrease in the conversion rate of the catalyst element the nitrogen monoxide emission from the internal combustion engine and/or the exhaust gas temperature before the catalyst element are adjusted as a function of the current conversion rate and/or the age of the catalyst element so that the nitrogen dioxide concentration after the catalyst element is greater than or equal to a minimum concentration and/or that the molar ratio between nitrogen monoxide and nitrogen dioxide after the catalyst element corresponds to a predetermined ratio.

  • Patent number: 8418680
Abstract: In a gas guide system, a combustion engine and a method for operating the engine comprising a gas supply arrangement for supplying gas to the engine, a gas discharge system including an exhaust gas treatment unit for releasing gas from the engine, the gas guide system including a first partial gas discharge line for discharging a first partial gas stream from a first fired cylinder group via the exhaust gas treatment unit and a second gas discharge line for discharging a second partial gas stream from a second unfired cylinder group separately from the hot gas stream directed through the exhaust gas treatment unit to keep it at operating temperatures.

  • Publication number: 20090229542
Abstract: An invention relates to a cooling system for a vehicle comprising an engine, an engine radiator, and an engine cooling circuit. A second cooling circuit encompassing at least one cooling component can be coupled to the engine radiator and is connected to a coolant recirculation pipe of the engine cooling circuit by means of a branch of a coolant supply pipe of the engine cooling circuit and a recirculation pipe of the cooling component. The second cooling circuit can be alternatively coupled to the coolant recirculation pipe or a coolant supply pipe at the output end in accordance with operating conditions of the engine.
