  • Publication number: 20110050412
Abstract: Selected objects may be located by pushing a button on a keypad of a base unit, or by giving an oral command thereto. A receiver microprocessor, loaded with a unique electronic address, is attachable to each object. A base unit PROM is loaded with a library of digitized voice command templates. A user's command to find a lost object is received by a microphone, and digitized. The digitized command is compared with the templates using pattern recognition algorithms, which may utilize a Hidden Markov Model. When matched, the base unit processor causes radio transmission of RF interrogation packets targeted at the unique address corresponding to the lost object. A receiver chip detects the interrogation packets, and compares the transmitted unique address with the address stored in its microprocessor. Where matched, the microprocessor modulates a sounding device to direct the user to the lost object.

  • Publication number: 20080160494
Abstract: An erasable board cover system is provided to enable the selective covering and concealment of the writing surface of the erasable board. The cover system can include a retractable cover that is adapted to slidably cover the erasable board using edge mounted tracks and reels and cords. In other embodiments the cover is a retrofit item that can be disposed over a erasable board in a stationary, static manner, or can be retractably mounted over the erasable board. A manual knob or an electric motor can control the deployment and/or retraction of the erasable board cover in the retractable embodiment. A locking mechanism is provided and configured to secure and prevent movement of, or the removal of, the cover when in a locked position.

  • Publication number: 20070157765
Abstract: A clamshell package opener includes a handle to which a housing is attached at a first end. The housing includes a head portion distal to the point of attachment with the handle. The head portion preferably includes an end portion and at least two opposing planar sides. A cutting element is disposed within the head portion and is displaceable longitudinally relative to the housing between a retracted position and an extended position via a blade-deploying mechanism. A curved U-shaped guard is provided for attachment at one of the planar sides. The package opener is adapted such that during use, the cutting element is extended for cutting around the die cut edge of the clamshell package until the user may easily remove the contents of the same.

  • Publication number: 20060053637
Abstract: A package opening device having a movable member hingedly connected to a base. At such point of connection, the movable member separates a cutting area from a grip area on the base. A cutting element is provided on a top face of the cutting area of the base and is preferably comprised of a ceramic material for facilitating cutting of e.g., shrink-wrapped packaging. The movable member is pivotable with respect to the base, wherein in an open position the movable member is pivoted to expose the cutting area, and thus the cutting element. In a closed position, the movable member may be folded flat against the base to cover the cutting element, the movable member including a relief to accomodate the cutting element when closed. The grip area is provided to facilitate handling of the package opening device during use.

  • Publication number: 20050243544
Abstract: A light emitting diode (LED) flashlight that utilizes reflection techniques to maximize light provided by the one or more light emitting diode light sources. A reflection housing includes a light housing that is suspended within the reflection housing and positions the light source toward the flashlight handle. Reflective surfaces within the reflection housing receive the light emanating from the LED light source and reflect and re-direct the light out the transparent end opposite the flashlight handle.

  • Publication number: 20050229397
Abstract: The clamshell package opener includes a driver gear and an idler gear that are compressed against a surface of the package. As the gears are compressed to hold the package, a cutting blade is positioned so as to puncture the clamshell package in the area adjacent the gears. Once the clamshell package has been punctured, the driver gear is rotated while the two gears are maintaining frictional engagement with the package. The rotation of the driver gear causes the package to pass through the gears while being cut by the cutting blade. This action can be performed anywhere along the package and can also be done around the outer periphery edge of the same.

  • Publication number: 20050183266
Abstract: A clamshell package opener includes a driver gear and an idler gear that are compressed against the die cut edge of the clamshell. As the gears are being compressed to hold the die cut edge, a cutting blade is positioned so as to puncture the clamshell package in the area adjacent the die cut edge and inside the same. Once the clamshell package has been punctured, the driver gear is rotated while the two gears are maintaining frictional engagement with the die cut edge. The rotation of the driver gear causes the die cut edge of the package to pass through the tow gears while being cut by the cutting blade. This action is performed around the die cut edge of the clamshell package until the user may easily remove the contents of the same.

  • Patent number: 6767107
Abstract: A combined magnifier/lighting apparatus for hand held video games utilizes a directional light source and an angularly adjustable flat reflective surface disposed opposite the directional source in a frame spaced from the display screen of the hand held device. The use of a directional light source and the adjustable flat reflective material provides an increased and more diffused lighting effect while eliminating the otherwise experienced hot spots or dark spots common in prior art light assemblies.
