  • Patent number: 9886162
Abstract: A networked device may provide tracking data associated with the networked device to an augmented reality (AR) device via a local network. The tracking data may describe one or more trackable features of the networked device. The AR device may utilize the tracking data to detect the networked device in a camera view. The AR device may generate an augmented reality view in association with the networked device in response to detecting at least one trackable feature of the networked device in the camera view of the AR device. At least a portion of the augmented reality view can be augmented with AR properties associated with the networked device when the networked device is positioned in the camera view.

  • Patent number: 9741244
Abstract: A control device executing a networking framework for controlling a network of smart objects registered with a framework may interact with only those smart objects in a room. A radio frequency signal broadcast on the networking framework for reception by smart objects registered with the networking framework may cause each of the plurality of smart objects to transmit an ultrasound signal that may include an identifier, such as a generic identifier of the smart object that was assigned during registration with the network framework. The control device may receive the ultrasound signals only from the smart objects in the room. The control device may rename each smart object from which ultrasound signals were received with new identifying information that may include a reference to the room. The device may then communicate with the smart objects via the networking framework using the new identifying information.

  • Patent number: 9628691
Abstract: The disclosure is related to identifying an Internet of Things (IoT) device with an image of the IoT device. A user device captures the image of the IoT device, wherein the image of the IoT device includes at least a portion of an environment around the IoT device, and transmits the image from the user device to the IoT device, wherein the IoT device associates the image with information identifying the IoT device. The IoT device receives the image of the IoT device from the user device, stores the image of the IoT device, and associates the image of the IoT device with information identifying the IoT device.

  • Patent number: 9374436
Abstract: In an embodiment, a client device transmits a request for an initial web page to a proxy server. The proxy server requests the initial web page on behalf of the client device in response to the client device's request. The proxy server then executes a web page redirection procedure that is independent of interaction with the client device and results in the proxy server obtaining web page content. The proxy server delivers the web page content to a proxy client application on the client device along with instructions for simulating, on the client device, the web page redirection procedure between the proxy client application and a mobile web browser on the client device. The proxy client application on the client device then simulates the web page redirection procedure that occurred at the proxy server as instructed.

  • Patent number: 9313863
Abstract: A device controls a lighting condition of smart objects. A networking framework is executed on the device and the smart objects. An RF signal is broadcast from the device to the smart objects. The signal requests the objects to transmit an ultrasound signal. Ultrasound signals from the objects are received in the device via microphones. A range and direction to each object may be determined based on reception times of the ultrasound signals. A map of the location of the objects is generated. The objects are controlled, via the networking framework, based on the map. A user interface overlay that shows the current lighting condition and location of objects using icons is presented on the device display. The icons are interactive controls for the objects, which may be interacted with for control of the corresponding object. The objects may be manually or automatically controlled to achieve a lighting condition.

  • Patent number: 9239862
Abstract: In an embodiment, a UE determines to load a web page via a mobile browsing application on the UE. The UE obtains, from a web server, web page resource information for loading the web page on the UE. The UE loads the web page using the web page resource information and identifies one or more hints for assisting one or more mobile browsing applications on at least one other UE to perform an initial load of the web page, which the UE then reports to a hints server. The hints server collects hints from the UE as well as other UEs, evaluates their relevance and generates and/or updates a crowd-sourced hints list based on their perceived relevance. The hints server provides the crowd-sourced hints list to a target UE, and the target UE uses the crowd-sourced hints list to load the web page.

  • Publication number: 20150350369
Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices of the various embodiments enable a receiver device to determine a high watermark margin and a low watermark margin for a cache based on data associated with a selected media instance and control the download of portions of the media instance based at least in part on the determined high watermark margin and low watermark margin. The high watermark margin and the low watermark margin may be determined based on a playback rate of the media instance and a high watermark margin time value and low watermark margin time value, respectively. The low watermark margin may be determined based on a rate of change in buffered portions of the media instance and the high watermark margin may be determined based on the determined low watermark margin and the playback rate.

  • Publication number: 20130294250
Abstract: In an embodiment, a proxy server delivers, to a UE, a set of rules to be enforced by a management application executing thereon. The set of rules includes at least one rule that instructs the management application to selectively intercept and apply data payload modifications to data being exchanged being a transport layer stack (e.g., a TCP/IP stack) and one or more client applications on the UE based on (i) a packet-state related to a data payload of the data (ii) a device-state associated with the UE, (iii) an application-state associated with an application from which the data originates or to which the data is targeted and/or (iv) a network-state associated with a serving network of the UE. The management application on the UE can enforce the set of rules for UE-terminated data (e.g., data downloaded to the UE) or UE-originated data (e.g., data to be uploaded from the UE).

  • Publication number: 20130297728
Abstract: In an embodiment, data scheduled for transmission by an apparatus is determined to include multiple elements with (i) a first portion of substantially non-redundant information and (ii) a second portion with information that is redundant to each of the multiple elements. The apparatus generates a composite representation of the redundant information, and transmits the composite representation of the redundant information to a recipient. The recipient determines reconstruction information by which the composite representation of the redundant information can be used in conjunction with the first portions of the substantially non-redundant information to reconstruct the multiple elements. After obtaining the first portions of the substantially non-redundant information, the recipient reconstructs the multiple elements based on the first portions of the substantially non-redundant information, the reconstruction information and the composite representation of the redundant information.
