Abstract: A device (1) for coating and/or impregnating a band (2) in continuous movement (3) with a liquid or pasty product, including an applicator (4) for depositing a layer (5) of the product, at least partially on one face (6) of the band. The device includes applicators (4) which are constituted by a reservoir (7, 70, 407) having a perforated area (8, 21,), brought into contact with the face (6) to be coated and/or impregnated, around which the band is deflected, having on a portion of its shell a set of orifices (9, 90, 409) opening externally and communicating internally with a product feed chamber (10, 110, 410), the surface and/or permeability of which are adjustable.

Abstract: A humidifier arrangement for at least one web of travelling hydrophilic material is provided to distribute humidity in a pre-determined manner over the width of the web in order to correct a tendency to warping of a material formed by the connection of this web to a second web. The arrangement comprises a plurality of jets distributed transversely with respect to the direction of travel of the first web over a table and opposite to the path of at least one side of the latter. Means for individual regulation of the rate of flow of each jet is provided and comprise, for each jet, a slide for regulating the rate of flow through this jet. The various slides corresponding to the various jets are able to move longitudinally on the table so that the position of the slides on the table for a given regulation provides vizualization of the shape of the cross-section of the material which is to be corrected by this regulation.

Abstract: A cutter for cross cutting a main strip of material, or several elemental strips resulting from cutting of this strip in the longitudinal direction incorporates two cutting devices for cutting respectively over a width less than that of the strip, which devices are placed side-by-side at the same level in a direction parallel to the width of the strip, a cutting device for cutting over a width at least equal to that of the strip, at a level different from said level, and independently-adjustable means for the individual control of the three cutting devices for causing cutting at predetermined times which can be adjusted independently.
