  • Publication number: 20240124694
Abstract: A composition comprising a polypropylene copolymer containing 0.5-7 mol % ethylene comonomer an having an MFR of 5-50 g/10 min and a relative proportion of isolated and block comonomer sequences in the polypropylene (I(E)) in the range of 5-40 is disclosed, wherein I(E) is defined as I(E)=fPEP/((fEEE+fPEE+fPEP))*100 in which I(E) is the relative content of isolated to block ethylene sequences (in %); fPEP is the mol fraction of propylene/ethylene/propylene sequences (PEP) in the sample; fPEE is the mol fraction of propylene/ethylene/ethylene sequences (PEE) and of ethylene/ethylene/propylene sequences (EEP) in the sample; and fEEE is the mol fraction of ethylene/ethylene/ethylene sequences (EEE) in the sample, all sequence concentrations being based on a statistical triad analysis of 13C-NMR data. The composition preferably comprises a blend of a propylene homopolymer and a propylene-ethylene copolymer, and the propylene-ethylene copolymer is preferably a polypropylene post-consumer resin (PCR).

  • Patent number: 9243138
Abstract: Propylene random copolymer composition containing (A) 60-80 wt % of a copolymer of propylene and from 0.1 to 2 wt % of units derived from ethylene; and (B) 20-40 wt % of a copolymer of propylene and from 7 to 15 wt % of units derived from ethylene. The composition has a total ethylene content of from 3 to 4.5 wt % and a melt flow rate value according to ISO 1133 (230° C., 2.16 kg) of from 10 to 120 g/100 min. Cast films, sheets, or injection molded or injection stretch blow molded articles made from the above composition are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5922813
Abstract: Catalyst systems comprising, on the one hand, a catalytic solid based on complexed titanium trichloride and, on the other hand, a nonhalogenated organoaluminium activator. When employed in gas phase olefin polymerisation processes, these catalyst systems make it possible to manufacture a wide range of homopolymers and copolymers (random and block) with an isotacticity index which can be adjusted to very low values and with excellent pourability, even in the case of copolymers of high comonomer content. In the absence of transfer agents they also make it possible to synthesize polymers of very high molecular masses, with an increased activity. These polymerization processes yield particularly advantageous results in the case of propylene.
