  • Publication number: 20240090775
Abstract: An apparatus 100 for sensing a physiological parameter of a subject comprises a force sensor 102 configured to generate a first signal representing force displacement of an organ of the subject and a displacement sensor 104 associated with the force sensor 102. The displacement sensor 104 is configured to generate a second signal representing displacement velocity of the organ of the subject. A coupler 106 is arranged on one of the force sensor 102 and the displacement sensor 104, the coupler 106 being configured to mechanically couple the force sensor 102 and the displacement sensor 104 with the organ.

  • Patent number: 11291380
Abstract: A blood volume monitor includes a carrier mountable on a subject's body part. A measuring arrangement is mounted on the carrier. The measuring arrangement provides data relating to a change in volume of the body part, and outputs signals representative of the change. A control unit is in communication with the measuring arrangement to process data output by the measuring arrangement to determine, using the volume data, the volume of the body part and determines blood volume in the body part. The control unit uses the response signals received from the measuring arrangement and the determined volume of the part of the body to determine the blood volume.

  • Publication number: 20210343368
Abstract: The invention relates to methods for generating cell-type specific expression cassettes and reporter vectors, as well as nucleic acid constructs that can be generated by such methods. The cell-type specific expression cassettes and reporter vectors are characterized synthetic cis-regulatory DNA, also termed synthetic locus regions (sLCRs). sLCRs allow for a cell-type specific expression of reporter or effector genes. The invention further relates to various uses of the reporter vectors, including the determination of a property of a cell, preferably a cell type, state or fate transition, in gene and viral therapy, drug discovery or validation.

  • Patent number: 8838219
Abstract: A pregnancy test system (10) includes a carrier (14) carrying a plurality of (sensors 12) arranged in a fixed relationship relative to one another. A signal processing (circuit 42) processes data sensed by the sensors (12) and outputs a data signal representative of the pregnancy status of an animal being examined. A support arrangement (24) supports the carrier (14) in a desired position relative to the animal. A positioning mechanism (26) is associated with the carrier (14) for positioning the carrier (14) at the desired position relative to the animal.
