  • Publication number: 20130104412
Abstract: A testing device for testing whether planeness of top and bottom surfaces of an object is within an allowable range includes a rack, a motion mechanism, a transmission mechanism, a control mechanism, a testing mechanism, and a display. The motion mechanism is slidably connected to the rack and supporting the object. The transmission mechanism is fastened to the rack and the motion mechanism. The testing mechanism includes two separated rows of sensors. The object extends through the testing mechanism, between the rows of sensors. The sensors above the object measure distances between the sensors and corresponding dots of a top surface of the object. The sensors below the object measure distances between the sensors and corresponding dots of a bottom surface of the object. The sensors send signals about the distances to the control mechanism.

  • Patent number: 8385643
Abstract: A preprocessing section binarizes input image data and calculates a total black pixel ratio. A feature extracting section detects connected components included in the binary image data and detects circumscribing bounding boxes of the connected components. Predetermined connected components are removed from all of the connected components based on the sizes of the detected circumscribing bounding boxes and bounding box black pixel ratios. By using the connected components that remain after removing the unnecessary connected components, a histogram is generated by specifying the sizes of the circumscribing bounding boxes as classes and numbers of the connected components as the frequencies of occurrence. A determining section determines whether the input image data is document image data or non-document image data based on information related to the generated histogram and the total black pixel ratio.

  • Patent number: 8200012
Abstract: A preprocessing section binarizes input image data and calculates a total black pixel ratio. A feature extracting section detects connected components contained in the binarized image data and detects circumscribing bounding boxes that circumscribe these connected components, respectively. Based on sizes of the circumscribing bounding boxes detected and numbers of black pixels contained therein, predetermined connected components are removed. A determining section generates an edge map by using the residual connected components, and performs two-dimensional fast Fourier transform thereon to generate spectral data. The determining section performs two-dimensional fast Fourier transform on template images to generate spectral data. The determining section determines, based on these pieces of spectral data, whether or not a circular shape is contained in the input image data.

  • Patent number: 8048558
Abstract: A nickel-zinc battery cell is formed with a negative can, a positive cap, and a jelly roll of electrochemically active positive and negative materials within. The inner surface of the can is protected with an anticorrosive material that may be coated or plated onto the can. Good electrical contact between the jelly roll and the cap is achieved through folding the nickel substrate over to contact a positive current collection disk.

  • Publication number: 20100214870
Abstract: Methods and systems for investigating subterranean formations are disclosed. A method for extracting geological horizon on-demand from a 3D seismic data set, comprises collecting 3D seismic data and generating 3D seismic extrema cubes; obtaining a user-defined seed point in the 3D seismic data set; determining a starting extrema point for extracting the geological horizon, wherein the starting extrema point is associated with the seed point; growing an extrema patch consisting of multiple extrema points from multiple traces, wherein the growth begins from the starting extrema point; capturing statistics of the growing extrema patch; and outputting the extrema patch as the geological horizon, including spatial and attribute statistics.

  • Publication number: 20090180690
Abstract: When the gray processing section converts input image data into gray image data, the histogram generating section generates a histogram that represents the distribution of the number of pixels of the gray image data. Then, based on the gray level of a target pixel and the gray levels of a plurality of neighbor pixels surrounding the target pixel in the shape of an approximate circumference, rotation-invariant features indicating local texture feature centering on the target pixel are calculated for each of the pixels, and a histogram is generated based on the calculated feature. Thereafter, the search section searches for similar image data based on the histogram of the registration image data and the histogram of the input image data, and the display section displays the result of search.

  • Patent number: 6405325
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and tool for restoring a crashed operation system of a computer, for example, by operating under DOS environment to restore a crashed Windows system without requiring a long time setup and reinstallation. According to the present invention, a matching table for short file names to long file names is established for all files (containing directory names) on a disk. Then the long file names can be retrieved from short file names in accordance with the matching table. Since the long file names are stored in Unicode, they are workable for operation systems of any language.
