  • Patent number: 8359162
Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program code for processing data from potential field surveys, particularly airborne gravity field surveys, to correct for the effects of terrain. A method of processing potential field measurement data from a moving platform survey for mapping a field includes data defining a time series of potential field measurements captured by a potential field measurement instrument mounted on a moving platform, each of the measurements having associated data defining positions, inputting terrain data defining a spatial variation of terrain surveyed, determining time-domain correction data to be applied to the measured potential field data in the time-domain, and adjusting the measured potential field data defining the time series of potential field measurements using the time-domain correction data to provide terrain corrected measured potential field data for the mapping of the field.

  • Patent number: 8332184
Abstract: This invention relates to techniques for processing potential field measurement data from airborne surveys such as gravity surveys, and to methods, apparatus and computer program code for such techniques. The method comprises: inputting measured potential field data comprising data defining a plurality of potential field measurements each with an associated measurement position and measurement time; and determining a set of field mapping parameters using a model comprising a combination of a spatial part representing a spatial variation of a potential field and a temporal part representing time domain noise in the measured potential field data.

  • Publication number: 20120101789
Abstract: A method of processing geophysical data including at least measured potential field data from a potential field survey of a surveyed region of the earth to provide a representation of the geology of said surveyed region, the method comprising: inputting a first and a second set of measured potential field data wherein at least said first set of measured potential field data is filtered data; and generating a model of said surveyed region by predicting a first set of data and a second set of data corresponding to said first and second sets of measured potential field data; filtering said first set of predicted data, wherein said filtering matches the filtering applied to the first set of measured data and fitting said first set of filtered predicted data and said second set of predicted data to said first and second sets of measured data, respectively.

  • Publication number: 20110010095
Abstract: Conducting a potential field survey of a survey surface includes a method, a system, and/or a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium. In some embodiments of these techniques, the method includes determining a set of paths along an observation surface at an observation height above the surface survey, and measuring potential field data at points on said paths, wherein said set of paths comprises at least one reference path and a plurality of survey paths associated with said at least one reference path wherein the distance between each of the plurality of survey paths and the reference path is a function of the observation height. Said set of paths may define a generally fan-shaped pattern diverging from a common region. This Abstract is provided for the sole purpose of complying with the Abstract requirement rules. This Abstract is submitted with the explicit understanding that it will not be used to interpret or to limit the scope or the meaning of the claims.

  • Publication number: 20070222223
Abstract: A wind generator includes: a nacelle; a hub rotatably carried by the nacelle and including at least a pair of wind turbine blades; and an electricity producing generator including a stator and a rotor carried by the nacelle. The rotor is connected to the hub and rotatable in response to wind acting on the blades to rotate the rotor relative to the stator to generate electricity. A cooling system is carried by the nacelle and includes at least one ambient air inlet port opening through a surface of the nacelle downstream of the hub and blades, and a duct for flowing air from the inlet port in a generally upstream direction toward the hub and in cooling relation to the stator.

  • Publication number: 20050242116
Abstract: An apparatus and method is disclosed for conveniently reducing spillage from dispensers. A base secures to, or is secured by the base. A holder secures to the base and receives a disposable cup. The disposable cup is typically readily available and may be readily replaced when the cup becomes full. The holder may be adjustable with respect to the dispenser to vary the position of the holder with respect to a spigot. The holder may be secured to the dispenser in an out-of-the-way position for ready storage and transportation. An adjustable holder, or a selectively inserted insert, may enable the holder to accommodate disposable cups of differing sizes.
