  • Patent number: 11992692
Abstract: This document describes an automated external defibrillator comprising a control configured to switch between a pediatric operating mode and an adult operating mode, wherein each operating mode comprises a mode-specific energy configuration and a mode-specific user configuration; an indicator configured to provide an indication of the operating mode in use during a resuscitation process; one or more processors configured to switch to the mode-specific energy configuration and the mode-specific user configuration upon a change of operating mode between the pediatric operating mode and the adult operating mode such that the automated external defibrillator delivers a defibrillating shock to a patient based on the mode-specific energy configuration; and an interface of the automated external defibrillator provides resuscitation instructions to a user based on the mode-specific user configuration.

  • Patent number: 5367805
Abstract: Provided is an apparatus and method for hydraulically powering a moving display. In accordance with the apparatus, there is provided a housing having an actuating member affixable thereto. There is further provided a reservoir means in fluid communication with the housing for storing a liquid and a pump in fluid communication with the reservoir and housing for pumping the liquid into the housing at a selected orientation and rate of flow. A liquid receiving cup is disposed within the housing and affixed to the actuating member such that the cup may be lowered within the housing by the weight of the received liquid. A distance limitation member proximate the liquid-receiving cup is provided for restricting the vertical distance the cup may travel within the housing and facilitating the release of the received liquid. The actuating member is actuated in timed relation to the vertical movement of the cup within the housing so as to power a mechanical or electrical display or the like.

  • Patent number: 5187795
Abstract: A signal processor comprising a split pipelined parallel processor which processes data signals from external signal sources and provides signal processing functions utilizing a plurality of data formats. The signal processor comprises an external interface unit having a serial control port and a plurality of bidirectional parallel ports. The interface unit transfers control and data signals between the signal processor and external devices. The parallel ports are configurable as individual parallel ports or coupled pairs which form a port having the combined data path of the two coupled ports. An arithmetic element controller comprising a microprogram memory and a control program memory is coupled to the interface unit which loads applications programs into the control program memory and executes the programs. The arithmetic element controller controls the processing of control and data signals in the signal processor.
