  • Publication number: 20230314578
Abstract: Systems and methods for performing auto-calibration for a target sensor from information gained by a reference sensor, thereby enabling cross-sensor self-calibration for a set of sensors. A method includes the step of obtaining a first mapping of a first observable scene from a first scene sensing device and a second mapping of a second observable scene from a second scene sensing device. The first and second scene sensing devices are positioned on a test object (e.g., vehicle) in a substantially fixed relationship with respect to each other. The first and second observable scenes have common reference objects and/or overlapping portions. The method also includes comparing the common reference object and/or overlapping portion of the first mapping with the common reference object and/or overlapping portion of the second mapping to determine a difference. Also, the method includes creating calibration parameters, based on the difference, for calibrating the second scene sensing device.

  • Publication number: 20230230257
Abstract: Systems and methods for associating three-dimensional bounding boxes with tracked objects are disclosed based on information gathered from objects in a two-dimensional image, for applications such as autonomous navigation. The systems and methods track an object in three-dimensional space and receive a two-dimensional image from a vehicle sensor. The system generates a three-dimensional bounding box for an object in the two-dimensional image, determines a two-dimensional image characteristic of the object, and associates the three-dimensional bounding box with the tracked object based on the three-dimensional bounding box of the object and the two-dimensional image characteristic of the object.

  • Publication number: 20230215184
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided to receive, at a processor associated with a vehicle and via one or more image sensors associated with the vehicle, image data associated with an environment surrounding the vehicle and corresponding to a first image captured at a first time, and additional image data associated with an environment surrounding the vehicle and corresponding to a second image captured by at a second time. The provided systems and methods may determine, based on the received additional image data and a machine learning model, that a tracked object identified in the first image is not detected in the second image, and may determine, based on vehicle data and tracking data of the tracked object, that the tracked object should be present in the second image and perform a remedial action on the additional image data to identify the tracked object in the second image.

  • Publication number: 20230184954
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for identifying a drivable area in front of a vehicle. A three-dimensional measurement sensor captures three-dimensional data corresponding to an area in front of the vehicle. Processing circuitry compares the captured three-dimensional data with a three-dimensional ground model to identify at least one obstacle and determine a drivable area in front of the vehicle based on the comparison.

  • Publication number: 20230074275
Abstract: Systems and methods for asynchronous late-fusion of measurements. State information and intermediate values may be calculated as measurements arrive and are stored. When late sensor measurements arrive out of the temporal order in which the measurements were generated, the late measurements are stored in temporal order rather than the order in which measurements arrive. State information is then recalculated to account for the late-arriving sensor measurement, with state outputs propagated forward in temporal order using the previously computed intermediate values to speed up computation. In this manner, more accurate revised state information is efficiently generated, accounting for any late-arriving measurements. This modular processing framework also enables sensors to be added or changed, which may cause measurements to arrive asynchronously, without having to reprogram the processing framework.

  • Publication number: 20230061682
Abstract: A sensor fusion system and method are disclosed. One or more processors are operable to receive a plurality of object detection measurements from a plurality of sensors. Each of the plurality of object detection measurements are associated with a potential object detection track. A plurality of sensor confidence values associated with each of the plurality of sensors are received. A track confidence value is determined for each of the potential object detection tracks based on the received plurality of object detection measurements and the received plurality of sensor confidence values. An object detection for a potential object detection track that has a determined track confidence value meeting a predetermined detection threshold is then determined, or confirmed, and stored in a memory for subsequent use, and is relatively unaffected by a measurement from a sensor that has a field of view that omits or is occluded with respect to the given object detection track.

  • Patent number: 4750079
Abstract: An integrated circuit switch made with CMOS processes contains a high voltage, high current field effect output transistor. The output transistor serves as a switch and is connected in series with an external load which is to be controlled by the switch. The integrated circuit also contains over current protection circuits and over temperature protection circuits. A circuit also provides fault indications which can be used to determine whether the over current or the over temperature limits were exceeded to shut off the switch.

  • Patent number: 4667121
Abstract: A speed control circuit made by using CMOS processes is capable of handling high voltage and high current loads. The output of the speed control circuit is provided by a power field effect transistor. Current sensing means are provided to generate a fault signal in case an over current condition occurs. The junction temperature of the power field effect transistor is also monitored to provide an over temperature condition if the temperature of the junction of the power field effect transistor exceeds a predetermined value. A ramping generator is used to set a latch which controls the operation of the power field effect transistor. A speed control signal is compared against the ramping signal provided by the ramp generator and resets the latch in order to provide speed control.
