  • Patent number: 9474519
Abstract: The application relates to a hand access laparoscopy device having a gelcap, a retainer, a sleeve and a retention ring. The gelcap includes gel that is bonded to a cap. The cap includes an inner cylindrical wall to which the gel in bonded, thereby providing a sealing area between the device and the wound in a body wall. By securing the gel to the inner cylindrical wall, the thickness of the gel and corresponding cap is minimized along with the overall footprint of the device. With the gel thickness reduced and able to be substantially flush, the “doming” phenomenon produced by insufflation of a patient's abdomen is reduced.

  • Publication number: 20160000495
Abstract: An electrosurgical generator arranged to supply radio frequency (RF) energy to fuse tissue is provided. The generator is arranged to supply RF energy through a removably coupled electrosurgical instrument to fuse tissue grasped by the instrument. The generator monitors a phase angle of the supplied RF energy and adjusts or terminates the supplied RF energy based on the monitored phase angle in comparison to predetermined thresholds and conditions to optimally fuse the tissue. The electrosurgical instrument conducts radio frequency energy to fuse tissue captured between the jaws and a blade to mechanically cut tissue between the jaws.

  • Patent number: 9080895
Abstract: A magnetic rotational position sensor assembly for measurement of a rotational angular position of a rotating structure. The sensor assembly includes a shaft member extending along a primary rotational axis for primary rotational movement in response to rotation of the rotating structure, a motion conversion member structured and configured to transform the primary rotational movement of the shaft member into secondary movement, a magnet member secured to the motion conversion member for displacement along a travel path in response to the converted secondary movement of the motion conversion member, and a non-contact magnetic sensor that senses a change in position of the magnet member by sensing a corresponding variation in the magnetic field during displacement of the magnet member along the travel path in response to rotation of the rotating structure, wherein the magnetic sensor generates an output signal representative of a relative rotational angular position of the rotating structure.
