    Abstract: A vehicle seat weight sensor for sensing the weight of an occupant in a vehicle seat. The sensor has a housing. A substrate is located in the housing and has a first and second end. Strain gauge resistors are located on the substrate to generate an electrical signal in response to the substrate being stressed by the occupants weight. The electrical signal is changes as a function of the weight of the seat occupant. A connection mechanism is located at the first and second ends of the substrate to connect the substrate to the vehicle seat.

    Abstract: A position sensor for sensing the position of an attached device. There is a housing having terminals and a cover attached to the housing. Resistors, conductors and conductive traces are located on the cover and electrically connected to the terminals. A rotor is positioned between the housing and the cover, and has a contactor mounted thereon for contacting the resistor and the conductor such that as the rotor rotates a resistance value indicative of the sensor position is varied. The cover has a terminal insert which connect between the conductive traces and the terminals. A leaf spring rotates the rotor back to a starting position.

    Abstract: A position sensor, in particular, a position sensor that has a modular design for easily coupling to another modular device, like a gas peddle of a vehicle. The sensor unit eliminates the use of permanently attached electrical leads or pins attached to, for example, the output pads on flexible films coupled to a rotor. In another embodiment, the sensor unit is separate from a connector unit so different connector units can each be coupled to a standard sensor unit, or the sensor unit can be coupled directly to another device, like a gas pedal, without the use of an intermediate connector unit.

    Abstract: An adjustable rotary switch (10) effects a high degree of switching accuracy between the switching circuit disposed in a printed circuit board (60) and the external switch actuator attached to the shaft (80) of the rotary switch (10). The switch (10) includes an annular rotor (40) mounted on the shaft (80), the rotor (40) having multi-fingered contactors (50) mounted thereon for engagement with conductive paths (70) disposed in the printed circuit board (60). The shaft (80), rotor (40), and printed circuit board (60) are disposed within a rectangular housing (12) having an aperture (18) providing access to one end of the shaft, and a housing cover (14) having an aperture (15) journalling the other end of the shaft. After assembly of the switch, the housing (12) and shaft (80) may be held in a fixed position while an adjustment tool (30) rotates the rotor (40) to adjust the position of the contactors (50) relative to the shaft (80) and the conductive paths (70) of the printed circuit board (60).
