    Abstract: In a computer implemented spreadsheet, a method for detecting and selectively correcting cell reference errors after a cell is copied includes identifying at least one destination cell containing a formula with a reference error; and converting the address of at least one reference in the formula of the at least one destination cell from a relative address to an absolute address. A system for carrying out the claimed method includes a spreadsheet application module, a cell module, an error detection and correction module, a user dialog module, a dependency display module, a fix memory, and a rejection memory.
