Patent number: 11972882Abstract: A power cable or a hybrid power-data cable includes power conductors and a plurality of continuity wires positioned radially outside of the power conductors. The continuity wires are positioned relative to the power conductors such that a cut in the cable will sever one of the plurality of continuity wires before a cut into the power conductors can occur.Type: GrantFiled: January 27, 2023Date of Patent: April 30, 2024Assignee: CommScope Technologies LLCInventors: Thomas F. Craft, Jr., Willis F. James, David A. Winkler, Gary L Guilliams, Randall D. Stevens, Thomas G. Leblanc

Patent number: 9885353Abstract: A reciprocating well pump assembly has a barrel and a piston reciprocally carried within the barrel between up stroke and down stroke positions. A travelling valve moves with the piston and has a closed position during the up stroke an open position during the down stroke. A relief port extends from a bore of the piston below the travelling valve into the barrel. A valve sleeve mounted around the body of the travelling valve is axially movable between a closed position, closing the tubular body relief port, and an open position, communicating well fluid in the barrel with the well fluid in the bore of the piston. When nearing the top of the stroke, the valve sleeve abuts a stop in the barrel. Continued upward movement of the piston causes the valve sleeve to open the relief port.Type: GrantFiled: July 7, 2015Date of Patent: February 6, 2018Assignee: Baker Hughes, a GE Company, LLCInventors: Steven K. Tetzlaff, Lance T. Robinson, Gary L. James

Patent number: 8469423Abstract: A multi-section telescoping pole for manipulating a tool. Sections of the pole have apertures. A pinch safety locking assembly includes a button configured for movement by a digit on a user's hand to a first position by a first resilient member when received in aligned first and second apertures to restrain the second section from moving relative to the first section and to a second position against a resistance provided by the first resilient member and against an elastic stop to permit relative longitudinal movement between the first and second sections. The pinch safety locking assembly is additionally configured to facilitate assembly by movement of the button by use of an excessive force to a third position against a combined resistance of the first resilient member and the elastic stop to permit relative movement between the pinch safety locking assembly and the second section.Type: GrantFiled: January 24, 2012Date of Patent: June 25, 2013Assignee: Hastings Fiber Glass Products, Inc.Inventors: Daniel J. Patent number: 7766081Abstract: A submersible well pump assembly has a gas separator that separates gas prior to entering into the pump. A shroud encloses a portion of the pump assembly, including the gas separator. The gas separator has gas discharge tubes that extend from it out through the shroud. The gas discharge tubes are tangentially aligned to create a vortex on the exterior of the shroud.Type: GrantFiled: September 10, 2007Date of Patent: August 3, 2010Assignee: Baker Hughes IncorporatedInventors: Donn J. Brown, Brown Lyle Wilson, Gary L. James

Patent number: 5593196Abstract: A telescopic hot stick or pole for manipulating a tool from a position a selected distance away from a workpiece wherein the hot stick includes a tubular first section having a female end and a predetermined non-circular cross-sectional shape. A second section has a male end slidably engaged within the first tubular section and a predetermined non-circular cross-sectional shape conforming in a close-fit relation to the shape of the first section to prevent significant relative rotation of the second section therein. A locking assembly maintains the second section in an extended position where locking is accomplished in response to a sliding of the second section to the extended position and may be disengaged to permit ready removal of the second section from the first section.Type: GrantFiled: November 29, 1994Date of Patent: January 14, 1997Assignee: Hastings Fiber Glass Products, Inc.Inventors: Larry R. Patent number: 4765461Abstract: A mobile elevator conveyor, comprising a main support structure (10) mounted on tracks (11), for mobility along an upper level (14) when in use, an elevating conveyor (13) supported on a boom (12) adapted to be extended from a retracted position within the main frame to an extended position outwardly of said main frame. The boom supporting the conveyor is formed from a plurality of boom segments (22), and is adapted, during extension and retraction, to pass over an outwardly and downwardly curving guide frame (29) mounted on said main support structure. The boom segments are hingedly connected at their lower edges such that the boom structure bends downwardly along its bottom chord at the hinges (23) between the boom segments as it moves over the guide frame, and down to a lower level (15). The interaction of the boom segments is such that bending in the opposite direction is resisted so as to form a rigid boom structure.Type: GrantFiled: May 13, 1986Date of Patent: August 23, 1988Assignee: Minenco Pty.
