  • Patent number: 6856059
Abstract: A turbine generator with stator windings and a hydrogen pressured stator frame, includes an annular L-shaped collar affixed across a circumference of the stator frame and soldered thereto by a solder joint; a terminal plate anchored to the collar across the circumference of the stator frame and marginally separated from the collar to form a first annulus that contains a first sealant composition that interfaces with the solder bond; and a hardening sealant applied to an upper portion of the solder joint. A high voltage turbine generator is sealed by filling a first annulus formed between an annular L-shaped collar affixed across a circumference of the stator frame and soldered thereto by a solder joint and a terminal plate anchored to the collar across the circumference of the stator frame with a first sealant composition; applying a hardening sealant onto the solder joint; and coextensively covering the first sealant composition and the applied hardening sealant with a second sealant composition.

  • Patent number: 6471229
Abstract: The present invention is directed to stabilizing a bicycle handle from vibration and wobbling while the bicycle is ridden over rough terrain or ridden at high speed. The present invention includes an adapter coupled to the front wheel of the bike. An arcuate rod that is substantially a half-circular rod with two free ends is coupled to the adapter, along the two free ends. The arcuate rod also runs through a dampening cartridge, which stabilizes the bike handle. Furthermore, the dampening cartridge is coupled to the connector via a universal joint along the lowermost frame of the bike. Within the dampening cartridge is a dampening material, and on one end of the cartridge is a cap and on the opposing end is an adjustable nut. Both the cap and the adjustable nut have a concave inner surface facing the dampening material, such that when the adjustable nut is tightened, the dampening material is compressed both radially and axially.

  • Patent number: 6085411
Abstract: A fixture for making laminated integrated circuit devices from layers of integrated circuits comprises a base having support structure for at least two side body portions. The side body portions are adapted to be held in position by the support structure and project outwardly from the base in an orientation for substantially enclosing a plurality of the integrated circuit layers in a desired alignment for subsequent lamination to one another. The support structure enables the side body portions to be spaced from one another and have only one degree of freedom of movement toward and away from one another, enough to accommodate some dimensional differences between the plurality of integrated circuit layers. A retainer holds the side body portions in a fixed relative position providing the desired alignment for the subsequent lamination. The retainer biases the side body portions toward one another.

  • Patent number: 5813113
Abstract: A fixture for making laminated integrated circuit devices from layers of integrated circuits includes a base and at least two side body portions for substantially enclosing the sides of the laminating integrated circuit layers. The side body portions have inside surfaces for engaging the layers of integrated circuits so as to hold the layers in a desired alignment during curing. Structure is provided for retaining the side body portions in position so as to hold the layers in the desired alignment.

  • Patent number: 5810102
Abstract: A reversible bit assembly (8) that includes a reversible bit (10) having a shank (20) and a radially enlarged center portion (22) located midway along the longitude of the shank (20). Opposed cutting tips (24) are located at opposed shank ends (23). The bit (10) is insertable into a bore (12) of a bit block (14) and held therein using a retention mechanism. A preferred retention mechanism includes a circumferential groove (34) in the bit center portion (22) and a cross hole (38) in the bit block (14) located tangent to the bore (12) at a position corresponding to the location of the groove (34) when the bit (10) is inserted in the block (14). A pin (46) inserts into the cross hole (38) to retain the bit (10) at the groove (34). An adaptor sleeve (16) is provided that may be inserted into the block (14) to additionally allow known bits (18) to be used in the block (14).

  • Patent number: 5788441
Abstract: The present invention provides an improved, lightweight, compact threaded fastener that has a relatively shortened transition thread rollout zone between the grip of the fastener and the threaded shank of the fastener. This transition zone is shortened due to the fact that the runout (or inner end) of the rolled thread on the fastener extends no more than one-third the circumference of the rolled thread at its pitch diameter. The short runout of the rolled thread does not compromise the strength of the fastener, because the runout does not have a relatively abrupt transition. Instead, the depth of the runout of the rolled thread of the fastener gradually decreases along its length from a depth equal to the uniform depth of the rolled thread throughout the length of the threaded shaft of the fastener to no depth at the very end of the runout. The invention further provides a pair of thread rolling dies for producing such an improved, lightweight, compact threaded fastener.

  • Patent number: 4729156
Abstract: A method of converting a sedan hardtop automobile body to a convertible includes severing the hardtop roof panel of the automobile body by forming cuts along the front of the continuous roof panel at the windshield and along the bottom of the rear roof pillars. A pair of structural reinforcement beams are positioned on the bottom of the vehicle connecting the vehicle's engine cradle and the rear transverse support which normally carries the two independent wheels suspension systems. A truss develop loads from the longitudinal beams to the surface of the wheel well lining and to the front shock towers. Transverse structural reinforcement is provided to the vehicle unibody at a position between the engine cradle and the rear transverse member and on the upper surface of the automobile floor pan. The transverse structural member fastens through the floor pan of the vehicle to the longitudinal reinforcements under the vehicle. The continuous roof panel is replaced with a fabric-like folding top.
