    Abstract: A system for programming automation by demonstration where a control program may be created or modified through the process of demonstrating desired behavior using graphical representations (or widgets) of physical, programming, and user interface elements. Widgets have state, or properties, and may also have inherent events associated with them or indirect events that are generated through the demonstration process. The general process of demonstration consists of providing several individual example behaviors. Complete behavior, and thus the resultant code, is generated through inferencing from a number of individual example behaviors. The process of programming automation by demonstration reduces the complexity of the programming task and thereby greatly simplifies the workload of the control programmer, allowing the programmer to concentrate more on the specific automation application at hand rather than on the particulars of the programming language or tools.

The control valve module has a valve that controls gaseous fuel flow to a mixer or other device for air/fuel ratio control, an actuator for moving the valve position, and a controller. The controller receives a signal from a heated exhaust gas oxygen (HEGO) sensor that is an indication of the fuel/air ratio and actuates the valve to control the combustion mixture to a precise stoichiometric ratio.

    Abstract: The invention is a catalyst composition and process for making and using the catalyst composition. The catalyst composition promotes the combustion of carbon monoxide to carbon dioxide. The catalyst composition includes an effective concentration of Group VIII transition metal oxide, an effective concentration of Group IIIB transition metal oxide, an effective concentration of Group IIA alkaline earth metal oxide, and, desirably, microspheroidal alumina. The preferred Group VIII transition metal oxide is cobalt oxide. The preferred Group IIIB transition metal oxide is lanthanum oxide. The preferred Group IIA alkaline earth metal is strontium oxide. The process is for producing a combustion promotor catalyst of carbon monoxide to carbon dioxide. The carrier for the catalyst is effective in FCC units when used on a support which is other than a mullite-containing support.

    Abstract: A new power tong for rotating tubular members for make-up (connection) and break-out (disconnection) operations. In one aspect such a tong has at least one movable jaw with a smooth surface gripping element thereon and pre-load apparatus for applying a pre-load force to a movable jaw so that the jaw does not slip on a tubular to be rotated and so it does not mark or damage the tubular. In one aspect the pre-load apparatus includes a first pre-load device at one end of a movable jaw for breakout operations and a second pre-load device at another end of the jaw for make-up operations. In one aspect a power tong which has unique smooth surfaced jaw inserts made, e.g., of aluminum. In one aspect a single pivotable pre-load cylinder, fixed to rotary, pivots for pivotable connection to one jaw or the other. This can be done manually or a powered smaller piston/cylinder may be used to pivot the pre-load cylinder.

    Abstract: A catalyst composition for a catalyst that reduces the emissions of sulfur compounds from industrial processes is disclosed. This catalyst is a spheroidal particle comprised of a mixture of inorganic oxides with an inorganic binder, an organic binder, or a mixture of these binders. The preferred embodiment is a particle containing zinc titanate. Also disclosed is the catalysts application in both fluid bed and ebullating bed processes such as petroleum refinery fluid catalytic cracking units and utility company coal gasification units. Additionally there is disclosed processes for preparing this catalyst using spray drying techniques and beading and tumbling techniques.
