  • Publication number: 20240118081
Abstract: Calibrating an unstable sensor of a mobile device. Systems and methods for calibrating a sensor of a mobile device determine a first estimated position of the mobile device without using any measurement from the sensor of the mobile device, generate a second estimated position of the mobile device using a measurement from the sensor, estimate a sensor error of the sensor using the first estimated position and the second estimated position, and use the sensor error to determine a calibration value for adjusting one or more measurements from the sensor.

  • Patent number: 8498568
Abstract: A system and method for time-shifting a live broadcast, and facilitating the purchase of live or time-shifted broadcast content. The device records broadcast content being listened to by user, which gives the user the option to replay content. The device and method also provides a preview service that allows the user to experience fresh media content on a regular basis, even where a live signal is not available. The broadcast source broadcasts new content on a regular basis to avoid providing users with stale content. The user identifies content using the device and data is stored that corresponds to the identified content. The broadcast source or a third-party content provider uses the corresponding data to provide the identified content to the user. In addition to audio content, the device also provides and facilitates the acquisition of video, graphics, text or any other media content.

  • Patent number: 7020217
Abstract: A receiver adapted to receive a transmitted signal and provide a replay capability in response thereto. The inventive receiver includes the medium (electronic or physical) for storing at least a portion of the received signal. In accordance with present teachings, the inventive receiver selectively outputs either a stored selection or the receive signal in response to user input (i.e. a replay signal). In the illustrative embodiment, the receiver is a satellite digital audio radio service receiver having a radio frequency tuner and audio decoder. The system controller is a microprocessor that causes the system to store each selection as it is received. In the best mode, this is facilitated by the transmission and receipt of a start of selection signal and an end of selection signal. The replay signal is provided via a user interface. Software running on a microprocessor includes code for detecting the presence of the instant replay signal.

  • Publication number: 20050173173
Abstract: A differential control system for the centre and rear differentials of a four-wheel-drive vehicle comprises a controller (28) which receives signals input from a number of sensors including ride height sensors (42, 44, 46, 48). The controller (28) determines from the ride height signals the degree of articulation of the vehicle suspension and controls the degree of locking of the differentials in response. The degree of locking is increased with increased articulation, and with increased rate of change of articulation.
