  • Publication number: 20190286200
Abstract: Cooling of an electronic device that includes a first portion and a second portion is provided. The first portion and the second portion are rotatable relative to each other. A first sensor measures a first temperature at a first location within or on the electronic device continuously or intermittently. A second sensor measures a second temperature at a second location within or on the electronic device continuously or intermittently. A processor identifies a first state of the electronic device or a second state of the electronic device. The processor controls operation of the electronic device based on the first measured temperature and the second measured temperature when the electronic device is in the identified first state and controls the operation of the electronic device based on the first measured temperatures but not based on the second measured temperatures when the electronic device is in the identified second state.

  • Publication number: 20190254200
Abstract: Printed circuit boards include conductive metallic paths, such as vias, traces, and pads on the printed circuit board. One or more metal additive structures are additively manufactured onto the printed circuit boards in a manner that forms a continuous weld with at least one of the conductive metallic paths. As a result, the metal additive structures are continuous with the printed circuit board and do not require separate attachment mechanisms (e.g., soldering or mechanical fastening). The metal additive structures may include shield cans, frames, antennas, or heat sinks for the printed circuit board, for example.

  • Patent number: 10176171
Abstract: Systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable storage media are provided for crowdsourcing actions and commands of a digital assistant application, irrespective of the languages spoken by users of the digital assistant application. Techniques described herein enable the on-boarding of actions datasets, which include defined commands and actions that result therefrom, from client devices to a remote server device. More specifically, the described techniques facilitate the proper on-boarding, distribution, and retrieval of action datasets regardless of the command language employed by users of the digital assistant application to invoke a properly-determined corresponding action.

  • Patent number: 10041339
Abstract: Method of recovering oil from a subterranean oil-bearing reservoir by using an injection fluid containing a viscosifying polymer in a low salinity water. The low salinity water has a total dissolved solids (TDS) content of 15,000 ppmv or less, and the ratio of the multivalent cation content of the low salinity water to the multivalent cation content of the connate water of the reservoir is less than 1. The viscosity of the injection fluid is in the range of 3 to 200 cP, and the reservoir is penetrated by one or more injection wells and by one or more production wells. The method includes injecting the injection fluid into at least one of the injection wells in a slug size in the range of 0.4 to 1.5 pore volume (PV).

  • Patent number: 9982521
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for configuring operating conditions for at least one of desalination equipment and fluid injection equipment to be used in a low salinity waterflood on a hydrocarbon-bearing reservoir is provided. The reservoir is penetrable by an injection well and a production well. The method comprises deriving an ion diffusion distance value from: a diffusion coefficient indicative of a rate of diffusion of ions through relatively permeable layers of the reservoir when the low salinity water is present therein; and a residence time value indicative of the time required for the low salinity water to pass from the injection well to the production well through the reservoir; comparing the thickness of the relatively permeable layers to the derived ion diffusion distance value; generating an indication of the effectiveness of performing a low salinity waterflood; and configuring said operating conditions based on the indication of the effectiveness.

  • Publication number: 20170335640
Abstract: A system is provided for injecting coiled tubing (CT) into and out of a wellbore. In embodiments, separate injector and reel units are provided releasing constraints on CT size and length. The injector unit is fit with an extendible mast for handling larger bottom hole assemblies and fit with a rotating gooseneck for accepting CT from alternate arrangements of the reel unit. The mast is reinforced to resist CT loading. The capacity of the reel is maximized for the reel unit transport envelope. The reel is rotated using an offset drive engaging a bounding reel flange, such as engaging drive and bull gears. A generally radial displacement of the drive from the reel permits replacement of the entire reel.
