  • Patent number: 10426392
Abstract: The invention provides systems and methods to determine cannabis impairment using gyroscopes to sense impaired movement of a suspect. The system includes a triaxial gyroscope assembly that transmits wireless signals indicative of the movement to a computing device configured to receive and store the signals and compute and display cannabis impairment of the suspect based on the signals. The method identifies cannabis impairment, including attaching a triaxial gyroscope assembly to a suspect, computing signals indicative of the movement, transmitting the signals to a computing device, and displaying an indicator of cannabis impairment on the computing device.

  • Patent number: 5573011
Abstract: A portable system for quantifying neurological function is described. The system comprises a gyroscope, power supply and signal analyzer. In one embodiment, the system includes a programmable computer, signal and power conditioning, signal analysis, memory and display capability. The angular rate sensed by the gyroscope is an output as a function of time and frequency. The power spectral density, Q, angular displacement, peak magnitudes and associated frequencies are obtained.
