  • Patent number: 7223890
Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved isocyanate reactive mixture containing at least one DMC-catalyzed polyol and about 0.25 to about 15 wt. %, based on the total weight of the isocyanate-reactive mixture, of at least one ethylene oxide (EO) containing water compatibilizer. The isocyanate reactive mixtures of the present invention may find use in the preparation of polyurethane foams, coatings, elastomers, sealants, adhesives and the like.

  • Patent number: 5328977
Abstract: An improvement in the process of preparing nylon-1 by the polymerization of isocyanates is disclosed. Accordingly, the improvement comprising using in the process a catalyst conforming to(X).sub.n Me(OR).sub.mwhere Me is titanium or zirconium, X is chlorine or bromine atom, R is an aliphatic radical having 1 to 20 carbon atoms and where the sum of m=n is 4 with the proviso that where Me is titanium n is 1 or 2, and where Me is zirconium n is 1-4.

  • Patent number: 5294729
Abstract: A process for preparing a block oligocarbonate is disclosed. The oligocarbonate conforms to ##STR1## where R denotes hydrogen or ##STR2## and where A denotes an aromatic carbonate structure conforming to ##STR3## where Ar is an aromatic radical, n is 2-6 and where B is the residue of an aliphatic polyol is disclosed. In the process a high molecular weight aromatic polycarbonate is reacted, in the melt and in the presence of a catalyst, with an aliphatic polyol. The block oligocarbonate is useful as a reactant in a process for the preparation of copolymers.
