  • Publication number: 20240139681
Abstract: Membranes and filtration modules for producing a concentrated feed stream and a diluted feed stream during operation in a water purification or wastewater treatment system. Filtration modules are provided that include a semipermeable membrane having a first side and a second side, the first side configured to receive a first feed solution stream from a first feed solution source and the second side configured to receive a second feed solution stream from a second feed solution source. The semipermeable membrane may be configured to operate at a hydrostatic pressure on the second side of the membrane from about 1% to about 40% of the hydrostatic pressure on the first side of the membrane, and may in some cases exhibit a salt rejection of from about 60 percent to about 90 percent during operation.

  • Patent number: 11932704
Abstract: The disclosure provides trispecific and/or trivalent binding proteins comprising four polypeptide chains that form three antigen binding sites that specifically bind one or more target proteins, wherein a first pair of polypeptides forming the binding protein possess dual variable domains having a cross-over orientation and wherein a second pair of polypeptides forming the binding protein possess a single variable domain. The disclosure also provides methods for making trispecific and/or trivalent binding proteins and uses of such binding proteins.

  • Publication number: 20240078136
Abstract: A system and method are provided for operating a pool of workers within a distributed computing system, wherein each of multiple computers host one or more workers. Each computer also hosts ledgers for one or more originators of tasks that are submitted to the pool for processing. A ledger identifies tasks from the corresponding originator that have been submitted to the pool and that have not yet been completed. When an originator submits a new task, the system (e.g., a coordinator) identifies a maximum number of concurrent tasks permitted the originator and determines, with reference to the originator's ledger, whether the task can be submitted to the pool without exceeding the limit. If so, the task is assigned to an idle worker (if any) and is added to the originator's ledger. After completion, the task is removed from the ledger. Obsolete or stale entries are periodically purged from originators' ledgers.

  • Publication number: 20070004481
Abstract: A team sport entertainment simulation game-play innovation that enables the user to optionally choose the offensive or defensive player to control prior to the start of the play regardless of ball possession and to control that player until the play terminates, or for a portion of the play until the user cancels the player specific mode. The user is expected to perform the characteristic behavior of the controlled player's position (e.g. quarterback, running back, wide receiver, defensive back, etc. in the example of the team sport of football). Missions, which describe the characteristic behavior of the position, provide goals and incentives to play the position properly or in another manner. Upon completion of the tasks outlined in the missions the user is rewarded with player attribute upgrades that increase the player's odds of winning the game.
