  • Publication number: 20050251096
Abstract: A prefilled syringe assembly that includes a syringe barrel of cylindrical configuration having an inner surface that defines a cylindrical chamber, a shoulder portion connected to the cylindrical chamber, a neck portion connected to the shoulder portion and a tapered tip that terminates at the distal end. The tapered tip extends a first distance along the neck portion toward the distal end and having a shaft and a bore therethrough. The syringe barrel further includes a luer collar that terminates at the distal end and extends a second distance along the longitudinal axis from the neck portion toward the distal end such that the second distance is about equal to the first distance. The prefilled syringe assembly also includes a piston that is received through the proximal end and is positioned within the syringe barrel.
