Abstract: An electronic article surveillance system is disclosed. The system of the present invention has a moisture-sensitive article placed within a canister having a non-static desiccant material and an activated electronic article surveillance radio frequency (EAS RF) device. The EAS RF device is placed between a Generally Regarded as Safe qualified label and a release liner which is applied to the canister. The system also has an EAS RF detector which monitors an associated interrogation zone for a signal from the activated EAS RF device thereby activating an alarm.

Abstract: A moisture absorbing product, particularly for use in containers or railcars, includes a desiccant container including a plurality of separate desiccant holding compartments, each containing a quantity of desiccant material, a support over which the desiccant material is placed, a sheeting material, which substantially covers the desiccant container and which is permeable to gaseous water vapor but substantially impermeable to liquid water, and a strap with hook, secured to or within the support or desiccant container, which strap and hook are useful for hanging the moisture absorbing product within the container or railcar.

Abstract: A multifunctional vessel which includes an outer container, a moisture control material, and a scented material placed within or formed as part of the outer container, wherein the scented material includes a plastic composition, preferably a thermoplastic material, blended with a scent imparting material. The scented material can be formed in the shape of an inner container for holding an adsorbing composition, such as a gas adsorbing material. Alternatively, the scented material can be layered in the vessel to form an inner layer of the outer container and the moisture control material can be placed in a separate canister or sachet. The moisture control material can be placed in a container, such as a canister or a sachet, wherein the moisture control material regulates the relative humidity within the vessel.

Abstract: A pharmaceutical or neutraceutical vessel containing a scented material which includes a pharmaceutical or neutraceutical container and a scented, shaped material, placed within or formed as part of the pharmaceutical or neutraceutical container, wherein the scented, shaped material includes a plastic composition, preferably a thermoplastic material, blended with a scent imparting material. In one embodiment, the scented, shaped material can be formed in the shape of a container for holding an adsorbing composition such as a desiccant or a gas adsorbing material. Abstract: An absorbent article formed from a substantially non-water-degradable packaging material into a pouch containing an absorbent material, wherein at least one edge of the pouch is sealed utilizing a water-soluble adhesive, and wherein upon expansion of the water absorbent material within the pouch caused by exposure to a liquid, the packaging material does not degrade, dissolve or tear.
