The transparent NFC antenna improves the radiation efficiency of standard NFC antennas by including a transparent conducting film such as metal mesh in the transparent portion, and metalized film in the non-transparent portion. The metalized film can extend along a narrow width of the perimeter of the transparent portion. In one implementation, the transparent NFC antenna can be incorporated into a touch-enabled display panel of a wrist-wearable device without interfering with the usability or viewability of the touch-enabled display panel.
