  • Patent number: 4805431
Abstract: A contrivance for the cutting-deforming of cylindrical surfaces comprises a housing wherein are installed in succession a head with at least two deforming rollers and a tool-holder adapted for movement in a plane perpendicular to the direction of a longitudinal feed. The tool-holder has an opening for passing a workpiece to be machined and accommodates a main pair of cutting tools and at least one additional pair of cutting tools. The cutting tools of the main pair are disposed oppositely in relation to a cylindrical surface under machining and in one plane with the deforming rollers. The deforming rollers are disposed relative to the cutting tools of the additional pair at a distance not multiple of a distance between the main and additional pairs of cutting tools equal to 0.1-1.5 of the value of a set-up size of the cutting tools of the main pair.

  • Patent number: 4408472
Abstract: An apparatus for the machining of cylindrical surfaces on metal-cutting lathes. The apparatus has a housing, a toolholder with tools and a head with deforming rollers. The toolholder is provided with an opening through which the work passes, and the tools are clamped in the toolholder so that their points are opposite each other. The housing is topped by guides secured in a plane at right angles to the direction of longitudinal feed with provision for rotation during setting-up, and the toolholder is fitted to the guides with provision for floating in the course of machining.

  • Patent number: 4393675
Abstract: A contrivance for the machining of cylindrical surfaces on metal-cutting lathes in a housing whereof there are contained a tool head with at least one tool, a head with deforming rollers, and a system for feeding coolant-lubricant to the tool and deforming rollers. The system for feeding coolant-lubricant incorporates a chamber which is located inside the housing between the tool head and the head with deforming rollers, communicates with a source of coolant-lubricant, and is also connected to the tool head with deforming rollers through at least one nozzle arranged so that the jet issuing therefrom is aimed at the cutting edge of the tool.

  • Patent number: 4383427
Abstract: An apparatus for the machining of cylindrical surfaces on machine tools comprising headstock and tailstock centers to support the work placed therebetween, a tool head, and a head with deforming rollers spaced equidistantly apart in a circumferential direction. The heads are consecutively arranged in a housing fitted to the carriage of a machine tool. A portion of the tailstock center that, in operation, is face to face with the work serves as the guide for the deforming rollers and has a diameter virtually equal to the diameter at which the deforming rollers are set. Its end next to the work is adapted to accommodate the point of the tool in a position preparatory to machining.
