  • Patent number: 4068514
Abstract: A device for electrohydraulic die-forging comprises an explosion chamber and a die with a blank pressed against said chamber in the course of die-forging. The mechanism for moving the die plate and pressing the die against the explosion chamber is formed by a kinematic screw-and-nut pair. The progressively moving element of said pair is rigidly connected to the die plate, whereas the rotatable element of said pair is kinematically linked with a drive for moving said die plate. The rotatable element is also linked kinematically with an independent drive for pressing the die against the explosion chamber when the die plate drive is disconnected.

  • Patent number: 4030329
Abstract: A device for electrical discharge forming comprises a fixed plate upon which is mounted an explosion chamber. Said chamber accommodates an electrode while its wall serves as the other electrode. To set off an explosion, the electrodes are electrically connected by a wire fed into the explosion chamber through a hole in its wall, said hole being made in the area of a step formed in the chamber wall. Installed near this hole are two knives one of which is rigidly fixed while the other one is movable for approaching the first knife and cutting off the wire. The cut-off end of the wire comes to rest on said step. In the device according to the invention the end of the wire does not stick to the hole in the chamber wall which eliminates the necessity of the operator cleaning the hole before feeding a fresh piece of the wire into the chamber.

  • Patent number: 4027515
Abstract: A device for electrical discharge forming comprises an explosion chamber and a work-holding die pressed against the explosion chamber in the course of forming. The wall of the explosion chamber has at least two channels with a cross section gradually changing over their length. The channels are arranged at an acute angle to the geometrical axis of the explosion chamber so that their wider ends are directed into the explosion chamber whereas the narrower ends are directed to the die near the zone of the work. As a result, part of the impact wave created by the explosion passes through the channels and acts on the face surfaces of the work thus ensuring more intensive and uniform shaping of the work. This device is capable of producing complex-shaped parts of a high quality from hard-to-work materials.
