A portable standalone unit including a cabinet housing a video display, bill validator, debit/credit card reader, user interface, processor, memory and speakers. The memory maintains one or more databases of celebrity video and audio files which are used to present the fortune telling routines to the user via the video display. A user is able to select a celebrity to present the fortune telling routine. The fortune telling device may also be configured to perform mock celebrity weddings after which the fortune telling device prints a wedding certificate and/or dispenses a pair of wedding bands and/or transmits a digital wedding photo.

    Abstract: The disclosed device provides a translucent housing containing a light source (e.g., LED) and a power source (e.g., battery) in close proximity. A button at one end of the housing permits a user to activate the LED by applying pressure to the button. The pressure forces the battery into contact with a conductive element which then contacts electrical leads of the LED thereby activating the LED. When the pressure is removed, the LED turns off. The housing is removably attached to a user's fingers or thumb by means of a flexible band, strap or multiple flexible members. In this manner, the lighting device is a one-size fits all device.

Through use of a video display, a vending machine may demonstrate performance of a magic trick, prank, or gag, enticing customers to purchase items from the machine. A user interface is provided for selecting the item by its advertised indicia, and a method is provided to allow ordering catalogs or items through mail-order delivery. Further, a method is provided to demonstrate confidential performance information through video displays or secure web interfaces, in a manner that educates the purchaser but protects the secrecy of the magic trick.
