  • Publication number: 20010042032
Abstract: A system that accepts and stores raw time and expense data for a plurality of businesses—each business defining a separate account that is accessible and usable by authorized users for the particular business. The inventive system automatically converts the raw time and expense data by considering any client or project-specific billing requirements (e.g., flat-fee, maximum fee, discount, write-offs, etc.) and by applying such specific requirements to the raw time and/or expense data in generating an invoice. The raw data may be referred to as internal data in that it is used only by the business providing a service to their client, and in connection with that business's account by the inventive system. A client will not have access to internal data. The invoice data, on the other hand, may be referred to as external data because it is communicated to the client and also used in connection with that business's account.

  • Patent number: 5127768
Abstract: A system and method is disclosed for venting soil gas to the atmosphere. Activation of a gas flow means, such as a fan disposed within a housing, directs soil gas from a gas source through a coduit, a housing and a vent to thereby vent the gas to the atmosphere. A shell is disposed about the housing and the vent, thereby defining an annular shell conduit about the housing and vent. A shell outlet at the housing inlet provides fluid communication between the shell conduit and the housing inlet. The gas flow means causes the shell conduit to be under reduced pressure relative to atmospheric pressure. Significant discharge of soil gas from the ventilation system through ruptures or defects in the housing, the vent or the shell is prevented by reduced pressure in the shell conduit, which causes a draft of air or soil gas to be drawn through the apertures into the shell conduit for subsequent ventilation of a substantial portion of the air or soil gas to the atmosphere.

  • Patent number: 4988237
Abstract: A system for extracting radon and other gases from a subterranean cavity beneath a floor slab and venting of collected gases to the atmosphere is provided which conducts cool, naturally occuring radon and other gases under high vacuum across a vacuum pump motor for cooling the motor. A vacuum pump is disposed within a housing chamber under vacuum. Cool gases within the housing chamber thereby conduct heat generated by the pump motor to the atmosphere.
