  • Patent number: 5823805
Abstract: The electrical connector is used for connection to a light source having a contact element (20) for electrical connection with a positive terminal of a voltage source and a base plate (18) and/or base section (22) for a ground connection. The electrical connector includes a plug part (30) having a contacting receptacle (32) formed to fit together with the contact element (20) of the light source, an electrically insulating sheath (36, 38, 40) and a ground contact element (50) arranged on the sheath (38). The electrically insulating sheath is provided with an opening (44) for insertion of the contact element (20) so that the contacting receptacle (32) is contacted by the contact element (20).

  • Patent number: 5775793
Abstract: A headlight for vehicles has a reflector having at least two regions formed for different illumination functions, at least one light source associated with each of the regions of the reflector and having two light source elements, a lamp carrier fixed to the reflector, one of the light source elements being inserted in the reflector via the lamp carrier and held in the lamp carrier, the lamp carrier having a first portion fixed to the reflector and a second portion in which the one light source element is held, the second portion of the lamp carrier with the one light source element held in it being movable transverse to an optical axis of the reflector relative to the first portion of the lamp carrier for adjusting of the one light source element when the second portion is fixed to the reflector, the second portion of the lamp carrier being accessible from a backside of the reflector for moving the second portion relative to the first portion of the lamp carrier.

  • Patent number: 5607220
Abstract: A headlight has a housing and a reflector arranged in the housing adjustably by an adjusting screw. An indicating device controls the setting of the reflector and has a movable indicating part which follows turning of the adjusting screw and a substantially stationary indicating part arranged outside of the housing. The substantially stationary indicating part is arranged on a guide so that it is difficult to displace. In other words, the substantially stationary indicating part can be displaced to assume a base setting and in its set position is fixed. However, during travels of the vehicle, it no longer displaces on the guide under the action of vibrations and other influences. The ability of the substantially stationary indicating part to be difficult to displace can be provided for example by arranging of the substantially stationary indicating part on the guide with a slight press fit.

  • Patent number: 5105342
Abstract: The headlight for a motor vehicle has with an electromotive adjusting device (5) for adjusting a reflector (2). The adjusting device (5) include an electric motor (7) and a step-down gear unit which are accommodated in a housing part (12) which is arranged within the headlight housing (1). The step-down gear unit includes a small worm gear (8) and a large toothed wheel (9) with radial teeth. A rotational movement of the toothed wheel (9) is transformed via a thread between the toothed wheel (9) and the housing part (12) into a movement of the toothed wheel (9) along an axis (6) determining the adjusting direction. The toothed wheel (9) is connected with the reflector (2) a ball-ended spindle which is held pivotally with one spherical end in a spindle receptacle attached to the toothed wheel so that, when the toothed wheel moves along the axis, the spindle moves to adjust the reflector.

The toothed wheel (9) is connected with the reflector (2) via an articulated part (18). The housing part (12) is supported in the headlight housing (1) so as to be rotatable. A basic adjustment of the reflector (2) is possible from outside the headlight housing (1) via an adjusting part (26) acting on the housing part (12) by means of rotating the housing part (12).
