  • Publication number: 20090320660
Abstract: The invention concerns a method of and an apparatus for producing at least one window opening (7) in an elongate paper substrate (1) which is virtually subdivided into paper sheet portions transversely with respect to its longitudinal axis. The method includes the following steps: a) the paper substrate (1) is provided with at least one water mark (2) per paper sheet portion; b) the position of at least one water mark (2) on the paper substrate (1) is detected by means of at least one sensor unit (3); and c) the paper substrate (1) is now fed to a unit for producing openings in the paper substrate (1), which unit is actuated in such a way that at least one window opening (7) is produced per paper sheet portion in the paper substrate (1) on the basis of the position of the at least one water mark (2), that is detected by the at least one sensor unit (3).

  • Patent number: 7097604
Abstract: In a guide roller for a stamping machine for deflecting a stamping foil web and/or a substrate web to be stamped upon, so that the guide roller has a negligibly low degree of friction, fixed to a roller spindle that is fixed with respect to the machine is at least one porous air-permeable spindle sleeve at which at least one roller sleeve is rotatably mounted. The roller spindle has a compressed gas passage for acting on the or each spindle sleeve with compressed gas to produce a gas cushion between the or each respective spindle sleeve and the associated roller sleeve.

  • Patent number: 6966586
Abstract: The invention relates to fittings (1, 21) for the fixing and/or locking arrangement of a glass element (45) on at least one adjacent glass element, whereby the fittings (1, 21) are composed of fitting halves (2, 3, 22, 23, 26, 27) each consisting of a substructure (42) fixed to the glass element (45) and of a covering (25) that crowns the substructure (42). The aim of the invention is to create a fitting (1, 21), which forms a compact and visually appealing unit having a smallest possible overall height, whereby retaining the existing diversity of use and the various functions. To this end, the covering (25) comprises a front surface (7, 30), which is fixed between lateral faces (5, 6, 28, 29) and which curves in a convex manner from one edge (8, 31) to the opposite edge (9, 32).
