Publication number: 20230065645Abstract: There is provided a method performed by an encryption node for provisioning storage in a system. The encryption node is associated with an application node and the application node is configured to run at least part of one or more applications. In response to an unencrypted storage volume becoming available to the encryption node from a storage provisioning node of the system, an encrypted storage volume is generated (20) from the unencrypted storage volume and provisioning of the encrypted storage volume is initiated (22) to make the encrypted storage volume available at a compute node of the system for use by the application node.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 7, 2020Publication date: March 2, 2023Inventors: Oliver Speks, Raphael Quinet, Nikolas Hermanns, Georg Kunz

Publication number: 20230062517Abstract: There is provided a method performed by a first storage provisioning node of a system for provisioning storage in the system. In response to a first request for an encrypted storage volume for an application node, transmission of a second request is initiated (20) towards a second storage provisioning node for an unencrypted storage volume. In response to the requested unencrypted storage volume becoming available to the first storage provisioning node, an encrypted storage volume is generated (22) from the unencrypted storage volume and provisioning of the encrypted storage volume is initiated (24) to make the encrypted storage volume available at a compute node of the system for use by the application node.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 7, 2020Publication date: March 2, 2023Inventors: Oliver Speks, Raphael Quinet, Nikolas Hermanns, Georg Kunz

Patent number: 11171889Abstract: A technique for buffering packets in a Software Defined Networking (SDN) infrastructure is disclosed. A method implementation of the technique is performed by an SDN network device and comprises receiving (S304) a configuration message from an SDN controller, the configuration message defining at least one characteristic characterizing packets to be buffered, receiving (S306) a packet, triggering (S308) inserting the packet into a buffer if the packet matches the at least one characteristic, and triggering (S310) sending a notification message to the SDN controller notifying the SDN controller that the packet is inserted into the buffer.Type: GrantFiled: April 7, 2017Date of Patent: November 9, 2021Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson (publ)Inventors: Georg Kunz, Nikolas Hermanns, Jan Scheurich

Patent number: 10972403Abstract: Method for controlling first and second resources in a system including first and second components managing the first and second resources, respectively and at least one host hosting the second resource in a cloud environment, one of the first and second components comprises a compute component and the other comprises a storage component, one of the first and second resources is a compute resource and the other is a storage resource, the method comprising: causing the first component to send an inquiry request including an inquiry relating to the second resource, to the second component; causing the second component to send an inquiry response including information on the at least one host, to the first component; causing the co-location of the first and second resources on a single host that is either the at least one host or a further host hosting the first resource, based on the inquiry response.Type: GrantFiled: January 15, 2015Date of Patent: April 6, 2021Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson (publ)Inventors: Manuel Buil, Daniel Catrein, Georg Kunz

Patent number: 10887797Abstract: The application relates to a method for operating a traffic splitter provided for a data packet flow flowing through the data plane. The data packet flow is received and it is determined whether the data packet flow should be transmitted through an Evolved Packet Core, EPC, processing path or through a Software Defined Network, SDN, processing path based on information provided in the data packets of the data packet flow and it is transmitted either through the EPC processing path or the SDN processing path based on the determination.Type: GrantFiled: November 18, 2016Date of Patent: January 5, 2021Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson (publ)Inventors: Martin Stümpert, Stefan Behrens, Georg Kunz

Publication number: 20170359270Abstract: It is provided a method for controlling a first resource and a second resource in a system (300) including a first component (310), a second component (320) and at least one host (330) in a cloud environment, the at least one host hosting the second resource, the first resource being managed by the first component and the second resource being managed by the second component, wherein amongst the first component and second component one comprises a compute component and one comprises a storage component, amongst the first resource and second resource one is a compute resource and one is a storage resource, the method comprising the steps of: causing (S100) the first component to send an inquiry request to the second component, the inquiry request including an inquiry relating to the second resource; causing (S110) the second component to send an inquiry response to the first component, the inquiry response including information on the at least one host; causing (S120) the co-location of the first resource andType: ApplicationFiled: January 15, 2015Publication date: December 14, 2017Inventors: Manuel Buil, Daniel Catrein, Georg Kunz

Patent number: 5538055Abstract: Tank closure with a self-locking closure apparatus arranged at the orifice rim of a pour-in socket-piece. The closure apparatus consists of a closure part and a pour-in opening which is closable by means of the closure part. Between the rim of the opening and a refueling nozzle to be introduced a gas outlet gap remains for the gases which escape when refueling the tank. A guide is provided for reception of the refueling nozzle. In order to free the exiting gases from fluid droplets, it is provided that the guide exhibits a reduced-scale segment closely surrounding the refueling nozzle. Exit openings are provided at the side of the reduced-scale segment which is placed toward the pour-in socket-piece, through which the gases pass out of the guide to the outside. Inlet openings are arranged at the side of the reduced-scale segment which faces away from the tank, through which the gases in the interior of the guide enter.Type: GrantFiled: February 27, 1995Date of Patent: July 23, 1996Assignee: Temetec Fahrzeugtechnik Entwicklungsgesellschaft MbHInventors: Georg Kunz, Angelika B.
