  • Patent number: 10508704
Abstract: An air spring for a motor vehicle having a rolling bellows filled with gas under pressure, one end of the rolling bellows is connected to a load receiver and the other end is fastened to a roll-off piston?. The load receiver and the roll-off piston are moveable relative to one another depending on a force impinging on the load receiver toward the roll-off piston. A sensor device is arranged inside the rolling bellows by which a distance between the load receiver and the roll-off piston is detected. A pressure piece extending in direction of the roll-off piston is arranged at the load receiver and a sensor body is movably drivable along a sensor track of the sensor device by an end region of the pressure piece facing the roll-off piston. The sensor device generates an electric signal corresponding to the position of the sensor body on the sensor track.

  • Patent number: 6722640
Abstract: A U-type bellows air spring is supported on one side relative to the vehicle frame and on the other side relative to the axle or a longitudinal control arm guiding the latter. The lower end of the U-type bellows is fastened on the longitudinal control arm side in a pressure-tight manner to a flange of a supporting element, and a vibration absorber protrudes through the supporting element. A piston cylinder of the vibration absorber is connected to the longitudinal control arm via a joint, and a piston rod on the longitudinal axis of the air spring is supported relative to the vehicle frame. To keep the amount of sealing for the air spring small even if it is not used very much, the supporting element for the lower end of the U-type bellows is arranged rigidly with respect to the piston cylinder of the vibration absorber. A preferably cylindrical circumferential surface for the U-type bellows to roll along during the compression and rebound action extends from the flange toward the longitudinal control arm.

  • Patent number: 6135250
Abstract: Disclosed is a hydropneumatic vibration damper of variable damping force, with a cylinder which is arranged between a piston rod guide and a bottom valve and in which a piston provided with at least one valve and connected to a piston rod subdivides the cylinder interior filled with damping fluid into a working space located on the piston rod side and a lower working space. A container surrounds the cylinder at a radial distance, thereby forming a compensating space which is filled with damping fluid and gas, while the lower working space can be connected hydraulically to the compensating space via a bottom valve and an electromagnetically actuable valve device is provided between the interior of the cylinder and the compensating space. The entire electromagnetically actuable valve device, taking effect between the interior of the cylinder, preferably the working space located on the piston rod side, and the compensating space, is arranged on that side of the bottom valve which is opposite the cylinder.

  • Patent number: 5544725
Abstract: Vibration damper which has a container tube which is closed on the end by a container base, whereby a suspension spring which encloses the vibration damper is supported on a spring plate, with connection mechanisms on the container tube and on a piston rod which can move axially inside the container tube, characterized by the fact that the spring plate, the container base and the container tube are connected to one another by a common connection configuration.
