  • Method of and apparatus for the automatic winding of a web of sheet material

    Abstract: The apparatus for automatically cutting and rolling up a sheet of material comprises a winder with a least one feed drum. The winder cuts the sheet of material, advantageously first the winder weakens the sheet of material along a cutting line. Then the sheet is cut through or severed by braking. The beginning of a new sheet formed by the cutting is attached to a new roll core by the winder after ejecting the finished rolled up roll and the beginning of the new sheet of material is held fixed during cutting by vacuum on the outer surface of the feed drum.
