  • Publication number: 20160349710
Abstract: In one general aspect, an apparatus for managing exposure to the sun is disclosed. It includes an aquatic activity control responsive to user interaction and an aquatic activity indicator associated with the aquatic activity control and operative to identify the aquatic activity control. It also includes a terrestrial activity control responsive to user interaction and a terrestrial activity indicator associated with the terrestrial activity control and operative to identify the terrestrial activity control. Timer logic is responsive to the aquatic activity control and the terrestrial activity control and it is operative to measure different predetermined sunscreen-product-specific time durations for a predetermined sunscreen product corresponding to sunlight exposure limits for aquatic or terrestrial activities in response to respective actuation of the aquatic activity control or the terrestrial activity control.
    Type: Application

  • Patent number: 8464981
Abstract: A UAV recovery system including a recovery cart; a guide mechanism for defining the path of the cart; a base station for capturing a UAV tailhook; a momentum transfer system driven by the inertia of the UAV through the arresting member to move the recovery cart along the guide mechanism away from the base station in the same direction as the UAV; an acceleration control device for converging the speeds and positions of the UAV and cart for enabling engagement of the cart and UAV as their relative speeds approach zero; and a brake system for stopping the recovery cart when the cart and UAV are engaged. Also disclosed is a UAV having a tailhook pivotably mounted on the UAV at the center of gravity of the UAV.

  • Patent number: 6283635
Abstract: A bearing housing includes a mounting for securing a bearing housing to a support surface and a bore adapted for receiving a bearing. An intermediate ring having a mechanical interlock and configured to mount over the bearing housing is positioned adjacent the bearing housing bore. An adhesive connection between the bearing housing and the intermediate ring connects the intermediate ring to the bearing housing. A bearing cover is positioned over the housing bore and engages the intermediate ring such that the mechanical interlock retains the bearing cover.
