Patent number: 11980757Abstract: The spinal cord stimulation device of this invention is configured for implantation into a patient so as to traverse the dura mater that surrounds the spinal cord. Placing the device in this location provides direct contact between the electrode and the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), in close proximity to the spinal cord. The device has an intradural portion and an extradural portion that compresses and seals the dural membrane between them, securing the device in position and preventing leakage of CSF. The position of the device may be stabilized in relation to the spinal cord by way of a laminoplasty plate, bridging between the device and a vertebra. The device is electronically powered by an implanted pulse generator that produces a spectrum of signals to interrupt or otherwise attenuate transmission of pain mediating neural signals through the spinal cord.Type: GrantFiled: December 1, 2020Date of Patent: May 14, 2024Assignees: University of Iowa Research Foundation, University Of Virginia Patent Foundation, Direct Spinal Therapeutics Inc.Inventors: Matthew A. Patent number: 11922591Abstract: A system aligns a 3D model of an environment with image frames of the environment and generates a visualization interface that displays a portion of the 3D model and a corresponding image frame. The system receives LIDAR data collected in the environment and generates a 3D model based on the LIDAR data. For each image frame, the system aligns the image frame with the 3D model. After aligning the image frames with the 3D model, when the system presents a portion of the 3D model in an interface, it also presents an image frame that corresponds to the portion of the 3D model.Type: GrantFiled: February 14, 2023Date of Patent: March 5, 2024Assignee: OPEN SPACE LABS, INC.Inventors: Michael Ben Fleischman, Jeevan James Kalanithi, Gabriel Hein, Elliott St. George Wilson Kember

Publication number: 20240035844Abstract: Aspects concern a method for correcting errors in map data comprising obtaining map data specifying travel possibilities between locations, generating a routing graph from the map data by assigning a vertex to each location and an edge from one vertex to another vertex if the map data specifies that it is possible to travel from the location to which the first vertex is assigned to the location to which the second vertex is assigned, identifying the largest strongly connected component of the routing graph, identifying one or more further strongly connected components of the routing graph, detecting errors in the map data by identifying travel possibilities that are not in the map data which lead to missing connections between the one or more further strongly connected components of the routing graph and the largest strongly connected component of the routing graph and amending the map data by the identified travel possibilities.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 10, 2023Publication date: February 1, 2024Inventors: Evan HOSSAIN, Hao WU, Xiaochenq HUANG, Padarn George WILSON, Guanfeng WANG

Publication number: 20230259846Abstract: A communications server apparatus and method for forecasting demand for services is provided, the server managing the provision of services based on received queries. Data records comprising data instances of service queries within a past time period are received. Modified data records are derived by modifying a value of a feature of one or more of the data instances to a standardized value. The feature is a parameter relating to an offer, by the server, to provide a service in response to a query. The data instances of the modified data records are input into a classification model, wherein the classification model predicts whether or not a service booking will be made. Classification predictions are output by the classification model and an estimate of potential demand for the past time period is determined based on the classification predictions, for improved forecasting of demand for services.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 30, 2021Publication date: August 17, 2023Inventors: Ankit GOYAL, Chao XIE, Yang CAO, Renrong WENG, Padarn George WILSON, Kong-Wei LYE
