  • Publication number: 20080105719
Abstract: A cargo holding assembly for use with All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs) includes a mounting bracket with a receiver coupled to the mounting bracket. The receiver has an inlet and an opposing outlet. The assembly includes a cargo rack having a tongue that is insertable through the inlet of the receiver and extendable out of the outlet of the receiver. A securable pin is removably securable within the receiver to contact the tongue at a point intermediate the inlet and the outlet. The pin applies a load to the tongue such that the tongue is pressed against a portion of each of the inlet and the outlet to create at least three points of contact that apply loads on the tongue to restrict movement of the tongue within the receiver.

  • Publication number: 20080093403
Abstract: An article holder for individual attachment of an article to an ATV comprises an attachment base, attachable to a support structure associated with the ATV and a holding member, configured to receive and hold the article therein. The holding member extends from the attachment base and includes at least three containment arms which collectively define a containment area for containing the article. The at least three containment arms are each biased toward to a neutral position such that the arms apply a securing force to the article as the containment arms are displaced by the article from the neutral position.

  • Publication number: 20080073478
Abstract: An ATV rod holding device includes a receiving member configured to receive and hold a handle portion of the rod therein. A slot is formed in a wall of the receiving member, the slot being configured to receive and hold a portion of a reel mount of the rod. The slot includes at least a holding chamber sized and shaped to receive without deflecting a portion of a reel mount of the rod therein, and a stress relief portion having a width more narrow than a width of the holding chamber. The stress relief portion extends from the holding chamber and provides stress relief such that the receiving member is not fractured when portions of the receiving member adjacent the slot are splayed.

  • Patent number: 6945441
Abstract: A mounting device for use with ATVs that can be semi-permanently attached to an ATV to allow an operator to attach and detach auxiliary items to the device, and correspondingly, to the ATV. The device includes a receiving socket to temporarily receive an adapter, the receiving socket including a maintaining means for maintaining the adapter in the socket and allow the user to quickly secure and release the adapter, and a mounting assembly, coupled to the upper receiving socket and configured to be attached to the ATV. Using a plurality of adapters, each having an auxiliary item attached, provides a mounting system for quickly interchanging auxiliary items and securing them to the ATV with minimum effort.

  • Patent number: 6637707
Abstract: A removable holder comprises a mounting base (10) and item holding device (12). The mounting base (10) is intended to be semi-permanently attached to a vertical wall, and the item holding device (12) is designed to be manually mounted within a tapered dovetail receptacle (26) formed in the mounting base for manual removal from the mounting base when not in use. The item holding device (12) incorporates a male tapered dovetail section (32) for mating into the female dovetail section (26) of the mounting base (10). A locking tab (46) is formed with the mounting base (10) in a manner to be biased outwardly to snap into a locking position against a top surface (40) of the male dovetail section (32) to lock the male dovetail section in place. Pressing on the locking tab (46) pushes it out of the way so that the male dovetail section (32) of the item holding device (12) can be manually removed from the female dovetail angled surfaces (26) of the mounting base (10).
