  • Patent number: 7696123
Abstract: A method for preparing a nickel-containing composition, and a composition prepared by such method, are disclosed including the steps of: a) mixing a phosphorous compound with a nickel complex having nickel bonded to a heteroatom to thereby form a nickel-phosphorous-containing mixture; and b) contacting the nickel-phosphorous-containing mixture with a supported partially hydrolyzed alkylaluminum compound, thereby forming such nickel-containing composition. Use of such nickel-containing composition in the dimerization of propene is also disclosed.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 4, 2006
Date of Patent: April 13, 2010
    Assignee: ConocoPhillips Company
Inventors: Katharina J. Schneider, Alt G. Helmut, George D. Parks, Roland Schmidt

  • Patent number: 7105140
Abstract: A composition comprising manganese oxide and a promoter, wherein at least a portion of the promoter is present as a reduced valence promoter and methods of preparing such composition are disclosed. The thus-obtained composition is employed in a desulfurization zone to remove sulfur from a hydrocarbon stream.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 6115624
Abstract: An intrauterine catheter device for monitoring fetal and/or maternal heart rate, including an elongate housing having proximal and distal portions, an array of ECG electrodes on the distal portion and one or more acoustic or other mechanical sensors on the distal portion. A pressure transducer may also be provided on the distal portion. Processor circuitry compares the ECG signal with the output signal of the acoustic sensor to derive fetal and/or maternal heart rate. An intrauterine catheter device is also provided, including a reference electrode on its distal portion, and an array of active electrodes spaced apart from one another on the distal portion. The device may also include a pressure transducer on the distal portion and processor circuitry coupled to the array of active electrodes and/or to the reference electrode for deriving fetal ECG from signals produced by the array of active electrodes.

  • Patent number: 4719191
Abstract: Pillared interlayered clay products of increased stability and processes for preparing such clay products are provided. The pillared interlayered clays are prepared by reacting a smectite clay, such as montmorillonite, with an aqueous solution of a polymeric cationic hydroxy metal complex, such as aluminum chlorhydroxide and reacting the resulting product with a stability increasing compound selected from the group consisting of silicon, titanium, phosphorus and antimony halides and ethyl silicates.
