  • Patent number: 4235232
Abstract: A hub device particularly suitable for use in a catheter placement unit which includes a catheter tube for insertion into a patient. The hub comprises a body with a passageway therethrough for the passage of the catheter tube. A resilient seal is associated with the passageway and is integrally formed on the body. This seal is adapted to permit the catheter tube to be slid into the passageway but is adapted to bear against the periphery of the tube to effect a seal around the tube. Thus, in use, liquid is prevented from leaking out of the hub.
