Abstract: A controlled tension limited diameter clamp is disclosed which can be closed and opened with conventional pliers. Working faces are positioned on the external surface of the clamp which can be gripped by pliers. The working faces are conveniently formed by die cutting and raising the edge of the metal.

Abstract: A circular spring clamp comprises a spring steel band having a reentrantly folded latch hook at one end and a radially outwardly extending latch at the opposite end with a concave latching surface thereon. The band has radially outwardly extending flanges on opposite edges thereof for guidance and retention of the latch hook.

Abstract: A tool for applying a spring clamp comrising a pair of handles, a pin joining said handles for relative rotation, a pair of jaws on said handles, a cam carried by one of the jaws and a pair of side plates pivotally supported by the other of said jaws having cam control tracks therein for effecting and controlling radial movement of said cam to complete closure of said clamp.

One of the jaws is relatively thin in radial dimension relative to the axis of rotation thereof and the other of the jaws is relatively thick in radial dimension relative to the axis of rotation thereof whereby said tool is reversible to effect closure and opening of the spring clamp.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to a hose clamp comprising a band, a housing having a pair of juxtaposed legs having tabs engaged in load transfer relationship in an aperture in one end of said clamp band, and a screw journaled in said housing engageable with the other end of said band. A relieved area is provided between the legs of the clamp housing which permits the legs to rotate relative to one another about a point intermediate the width thereof to minimize spreading of the tabs and thereby to preclude rupture of the band at the aperture therein.
