    Abstract: An adapter unit is disclosed for connecting a power transfer unit to the transmission of a vehicle for conversion of a two-wheel drive vehicle to a four-wheel drive vehicle. The unit includes a housing adapted to be mounted on the transfer unit. The housing journals a drive shaft which is connected at one end to the transmission output shaft and at the other end to the transfer case input shaft.
